Okay, the siren's call has been released! <waits anxiously for Bayohne to bite>I have a feeling the loot table from the captain (top 20 npc) is functioning as designed, but I fear that the loot table for the chest is incomplete, unintentionally.
Bayohne, i would really appreciate a confirmation of this, as non-top 20 people are starting to not want to do hamlet anymore... I am sure that was not an ideal (or even planned) result.
So my group finished the night 5/21 on drops
not too bad at all
sounds about right for a top 20 contributor, but we went 0/21 on the chest, im curious how bad the drops from it really are

imho they should be equal. the only bonus for top 20 should be a 2nd chance at the same stuff.
/nod
finally someone claim down and think a little.
you don't have to rush into battle. You can always give all you have at last moment.
But I hate this top-20 system... even hate it more than ifrit/garuada loot system.
should use primal token system.
win 10 battles to exchange one item, it's really not too much to ask...

The core issue is the chests not properly rewarding everyone on a level playfield.
I seriously doubt the fact that doh/dol have a new timesink is a big deal, when dow/dom can also spam chocobo escort for points.
Especially since when Hamlet defense parties are majority DoW/DoM, the event ends more quickly. Faster runs = more runs in the same amount of time, which results in more rewards. That is probably exactly why doh/dol have the top 20 feature, so they are somewhat balanced in attaining rewards.
...Of course this is all assuming the chests get the same proc rate as the Captain presently has ><;
HQ mats and items seems to give way more points. Going to test how much next time round.

THIS:I agree with the op, I was mining for 6hrs today and only got 55k points, that only got me to 15th, and about 2hrs later I was down to 20th, the top on Gungnir at my last check had 400k points now if that was from mining (because I know the numbers for that one) that would be over 40 stacks of kidney ores, in the time from them accepting items to when I handed mine in that must have been someone who was getting items all day (not sure how its possible) or a bot.
Right now this system is enouraging botting with this competition, so we don't have to stay at our screens all day imagine this to a linkshell because I can "hmm I guess I'm going to try and get in the top 20" "lmao the only way you will do that is with a bot running 24/7" "I can't believe that" starts mining for 6hrs and gets 60k points "omg how has the top guy got 400k points" "prolly a bot like I said".
It will need looking into or as said before people will just use it to get anima and not as it is intended, I know the thought behind this, if everyone wants to get in the top 20 we will be getting the higher lvls, but if this involves 12-20hrs of gathering and crafting and people still arent top 20, they will give up and be asking what the point is.
Smart people will stockpile mass quantities and focus on HQs over a week or two so as to guarentee a place in the top 5 by turning in an obscene amount of items at once.I personally didn't bot, my 4th place value came from lucky HQs synths and gathering a lot of +1 spruce branches, since +1s grant 10x reward. I was hoping to see if 1-3 did anything special but seeing as it doesn't I'll prolly just aim for top 20 while gathering during the week and then turning it all in one big haul before a weekend fight starts since that's when I can do the maximum amount of hamlets.
Duuuuuude, how do you explain the militia gear people have already obtained, then?I was in the top 20 on Durandal as well, and our LS was regularly pulling off 40k scores out of a theoretical 45k cap at Hamlet Level 2.
Out of 19 of these wins, the chest dropped nothing but dark matter and the occasional ixali currency. For every LS run. the type of chest was random, we saw bronze silver and gold on occasion, but the consistency of the rewards from chests was blatantly lopsided, in that Chest rewards netted at the top available tier was dark matter and a small amout of presently worthless beastmen crrency... but completing Hamlet Defense with under 15k points score rather consistently rewards a "consolation prize": Magicked Prism (Indigo Star).
My wager is that they have a chest loot list in mind for people in the following tiers:
Tier 0 Under 15k-----chance at Indigo star
Tier 1 15k-30k-------?
Tier 2 30k-45k-------?
Tier 3 45k-60k etc etc
The problem is, they may not have anticipated that before May 10th (when Aleport and Gold Bazaar go live), that people would be regularly exceeding tier 1 and tier 2, so the loot list for the chest was coded to give generic Ixali currency and dark matter, and the worthwhile gear would be added in 1.22a .
If I am wrong on this, I will likely not be participating as often, nor I wager, will a large majority of the server populations.
TL;DR -- If the only way to get anything but dark matter from the chests is to perform poorly, where is the motivation for groups to keep going at it, especially if they aren't in the top 20?
Goddess, I hope they fix this soon.
The gathering fatigue is hidden. It is based on a point system. You start off for example at 1000 points. Every item obtained gathering drops your point count by one, by the time you get to 500 points for example, you obtain items with more difficulty. By the time you get to 0 points you wont be able to dig anything up. Over time the points replenish so you have to do an eye opening amount of gathering to ose all your points imo.
Jinko, you and I both know this will never happen for the simple reason that it is logical. Sorry to burst your bubble ; ;I'm willing to give SE the benefit of the doubt for now, there is a good chance the loot system isn't completely fleshed out and working properly.
We can only hope that in the next patch the score will directly reflect the colour of the chest that spawns and that will in turn increase the likely hood of loot dropping.
Is there a problem officer...?
Did the 5/21 come from the officer?
I'm assuming the officer gives out secondary rewards apart from the chest to those who ranked top 20 in supply missions, correct?
This is from (at this point) at least 40 Linkshell completions, both Level 1 and 2. Scores at level 2 were consistently over 40k, those at level 1 over 20k.
Chest Rewards Confirmed:
Magicked Prism (Indigo Star) [only if completion score is less than 10,000-15,000]
Dark Matter Grade 5
Random Ixali Currency (very rare)
Captain rewards confirmed: [exclusive to top 20]
Dark Matter Grade 5
Militia Barbut
Militia Bracelets
Militia Wristlets
Militia Sledgehammer
Militia Mortar
Militia Culinary Knife

Great, so the gear is more or less dependent on being in the Top 20. Thanks DuuuudeThis is from (at this point) at least 40 Linkshell completions, both Level 1 and 2. Scores at level 2 were consistently over 40k, those at level 1 over 20k.
