You’re basically saying you want to run before you can even walk.
If a player really wants to get a house, the first step is to secure one — and right now, there are plenty available.
Greed usually gets you nowhere.
If what you’re saying is even close to true, then people really need to set their priorities straight.
The fact that many small plots have no bidders clearly shows there’s no crisis

Or it shows that the smalls are again not what people want save for a few the smalls just don't do it, I mean even ones with small like Khryseis below is literally saying they want addon rooms. I'm not going to argue their reason for wanting a small, nor their reason for not wanting a medium. what I will argue is you thinking that you like to pretend to act like you dictate what a player should 'start' with IE: Run before you walk. Why would I want to waste 3 mil on a small + the cost of the permit to build plus the time investment in decorating it when I don't even want a small. Sorry but the STATISTICS SHOW that more people want mediums or larges, and you are no one when it comes to deciding what and how they should bid. The fact is they should be looking at these stats and taking initiative to IMPROVE not stagnate and just keep building wards with smalls that only a few people want which clearly the majority want something bigger. That's the keyword, those bidding on mediums/larges are the majority, you heard that right? MAJORITY. you telling them that you're right and they are wrong for how they bid, is utterly laughable.

With how competitive the housing system is, getting your foot in the door is the most important step.
Once you have a house, you gain access and from there, you can always try to upgrade later, just like I did.

The only thing you GAIN from "getting your foot in the door" is a loss of gil for something you did not even want because you have bigger and better plans than a small can offer. even when the 'tardis' interior comes out the outsides are so limited it's really not worth it, I have had 3 smalls since 2015 and each time I hated them because they were so limited in what you can do, noo to mention it's absolutely aggravating that the top floor is almost half the size of the basement.
