Just bid on a small, jesus.
"I'M HUNGRY!"
"Here is some mashed potatoes"
"NO, I WANT STEAK"
"There is no steak right now, but you can eat these potatoes since you said you were hungry, and get some steak later"
"NO, I'D RATHER STARVE"
Okay.

WAR don't get changes because they don't need changes. They only need more enemies to cleave.
Cute analogy, but it misses the mark entirely.
Housing in FFXIV isn't a snack, it's a long-term investment of time, gil, and creativity. Saying "just take a small" is like telling someone who's saved up for a house IRL to settle for a broom closet because it's technically shelter. The issue isn't hunger, it's aspiration. Players aren't just looking for any plot, they're looking for the right one to match their goals, whether that's for an FC, a venue, or a personal creative space.
Also, your analogy implies that steak will eventually be served. But in this system, there's no guarantee. You could eat mashed potatoes for years and never see steak. That's not practicality, that's settling indefinitely.
If someone chooses to wait for what they actually want, that's not "starving", it's knowing their worth.
I guess paying customers should just close up shop and go pay for another game that actually respects their money and provides instead of promising change and then ever delivering.

You're sitting in the rain complaining about not having a roof, but you're refusing a broom closet because you've saved up money?
Get in the broom closet for the time being, since it costs HARDLY ANYTHING, then you'll be able to enjoy having shelter until such a time that you do win the Large you want.
Stop complaining, take reasonable action, stop being stubborn, listen to advice.

You're confusing "stubbornness" with standards. You're sitting in the rain complaining about not having a roof, but you're refusing a broom closet because you've saved up money?

I'm not refusing shelter, I'm refusing to throw away time, gil, and effort on something that doesn't meet my goals. A broom closet might be shelter, sure, but if I've saved for a proper home, why should I settle for less just because the system is broken?
Also, let's not pretend this is a temporary fix. Plenty of players have been stuck in "broom closets" for years, unable to upgrade because the lottery system is stacked and supply is limited. Your advice assumes that getting a small plot guarantees future success, it doesn't. It just locks people into something they didn't want in the first place.
I'm not complaining, I'm advocating. There's a difference. And if more people spoke up instead of settling, maybe SE would actually take notice and improve the system.

he's going to grift, harass, downplay, disenfranchise, gaslight, stalk, and gate keep!

Is that investment worth fifteen dollars a month to you?
But for your analogy, the steak was served. It was just smaller than you wanted to be. The bigger steaks are there. But youre gonna need to get on your jogging gear and go chase it down.
These guys are game developers. These guys jobs are to put obstacles in front of us. Housing is offered, but for a plot, youre gonna have to overcome some obstacles, like Lady luck. Once you overcome overcome lady luck. Your reward? A plot you now have to keep a subscription active occasionally to keep.

And you wonder why this subject is met with absolute silence for the last decade. There is absolutely nothing good from addressing this topic with a 10 foot pole.there it is chat! we finally got their confession see? they are a gate keeping SE apologistand they just want to derail the thread to earn brownie points so that surely they'll get noticed by their favorite Developer for doing such a great job with their tribalism tactic.
I'm explaining how the system has been presented to me. And you think that's a confession? Brother they de-fanged most of your arguments since apts are considered housing. Once the implemented apts that was your low hanging fruit for housing.
Once you've got that, your "lack of housing argument" lost its validity. Anything that you can't answer. You simply won't answer. What is "housing" defined as? And if apartments meet that criteria. And your server has housing unit available that fall under that "housing" umbrella.
Is there really a lack of housing then?
And if you have that baseline of housing. Then why wouldnt they put the bigger harder to get plots as a carrot on a stick? Youre not locked out housing for not having a plot anymore.
You think i'm defending them? I don't have to. you're paying them to be here regardless of my opinion.Youre running defense for the company youre trying to criticize indirectly by trying to backhand insult me. Your wallet is running more defense then what I say ever could.

You absolutely have the right to make requests, but you should avoid the mindset that “the customer is always right.”there it is chat! we finally got their confession see? they are a gate keeping SE apologistand they just want to derail the thread to earn brownie points so that surely they'll get noticed by their favorite Developer for doing such a great job with their tribalism tactic.
That mindset often ignores practicality and oversimplifies business relationships.
The customer’s voice is important, but it’s not always correct.
You’re free to express your perspective, but since this is a public forum, you will also encounter opposing viewpoints.
If you are only seeking agreement and validation, this is not the right place.
Just as the forum GM allows you to provide negative feedback, you also don’t have the right to discredit or dismiss the narratives of those who disagree with you.
That’s what freedom of speech entails—open exchange of differing opinions.
