Yeah, it's BECAUSE housing is far too little in the world for players. I've been trying for many many years now, since housing released. and no chance at all. So im tired... im so tired and fed up man.

I can get that, with you being on Mateus - that's been pretty full for years now, and I can only imagine the bid counts you guys must get on even a small.

When they combined everything into Crystal I know there were quite a few plots on the other servers like Goblin. Are all the wards on all the worlds on Crystal prtety much entirely taken these days?

Oh yeah. It's pretty crazy, i've seen a single medium getting 200+ on mateus. on Balmung i once saw a med get up to 900 tickets.

That's just awful - the biggest I've seen on Siren has been in the 170s, if memory serves.

I remember hearing about a Large that had over 1700 bids, I think it was, on Balmung not long after the lottery system went in. I can only imagine the walk of shame through a horde of angry non-winners the winner had to do after they claimed THAT one.

We saw a good many open up from the last couple auto demo waves… 200 in the first lotto, and 400 opening up the day after it started on Bryn. But once those are taken up, I’m sure we’ll go back to the tons of bids even on smalls that we had before, as supply dries up again.

In the end, SE’s approach to the housing system is justified.
It’s fair to say that Yoshida has a solid understanding of the MMORPG ecosystem, where no game can sustain a massive player base beyond ten years.
Currently, on Leviathan, there are many small plots with no bidders, while all the bidding activity focuses on medium and large plots.
If housing demand were truly high, these smaller plots would be claimed immediately once demolitions begin again.

Are you arguing just for the sake of arguing?
You’re basically saying you want to run before you can even walk.
If a player really wants to get a house, the first step is to secure one — and right now, there are plenty available.
Greed usually gets you nowhere.
If what you’re saying is even close to true, then people really need to set their priorities straight.

I mean, I prefer the small layout - interior and exterior - so I think they should exist. lol The medium and large house walls/skins always look like “stretched out” versions of the small anyway. Once they finally give us that item increase, I’ll be happy. (Although I’d be ecstatic if we could ever add on rooms and have a personal chest, similar to how FCs do.)

But I get where you’re coming from on the “settling.” The old advice of “get any house now, you can transfer later” became outdated when they took away auto-relocation. Because now you’re just in another lotto against insane odds. So while my advice is generally “any house is better than no house,” at the same time, with things as they are, if you see the one you really want up for bids, you may as well go for it, because you have just as much chance of getting it as any random small. I bid on smalls exclusively for almost a year before I got the one I have now. And I’ve probably been trying for my preferred plot for about 3 years now. But still bidding on others for my own reasons. (I have an Observatory, but I have no unobstructed view of the night sky!)

And also, reason #2817 why I’d like an instanced housing option added… pick whatever size you want, pick your background scenery… bonus, no other houses getting in the way of your views, and/or your aesthetic! Most importantly, everyone would get a fully functional housing plot. The scarcity just creates hostility and imo if you pay a sub, you deserve to be able to participate in all forms of housing: apartment and/or FC room, island and a plot!
