I really wish people would stop using age, medical conditions, or whatever to ask for easier content.
I'm 58 years old, relatively healthy, and can play ego shooters on the highest difficulty rate - so I guess my reflexes are still quite good. But the visual clutter and the unillegible boss emotes of FF14 just kill me. As soon as the boss fires out 15 AEs, then 27 more, then gestures towards the ceiling, the far right corner, and then his butt - I'm dead, as I have no idea what this all means. The game does a horrible job at teaching you what's about to happen next, and I simply refuse to watch guides and memorize all of this garbage.
I would prefer to have an easy mode for all MSQ content; and I would love to have a checkbox in the settings which auto-skips every single MSQ trial - as none of them are ever fun.
Leave the hard content to the people that like hard content, and let me just play through the MSQ. That's not rocket science, no?

I can agree with you on this.

At the end of the day, MSQ and everything MSQ related should cause as little friction as possible, so as many people as possible can clear it. Optional content could be tough but fair (basically along the lines of Dun Scaith when it first launched, that's an example of the perfect difficulty for optional content imo). Extremes/Savages/Ultimates/Unreals can be overtuned to hell to make everything as excruciating as possible to get through. Yeah, the way I laid it out is pretty simplistic. But, in general, I feel like that's a fair start to a framework for addressing content difficulty and satisfying most people.

They can and there is as many people as possible. What people want is also requiring their brain cell to play rather than playing a visual novel with one button. This is an MMORPG, some things will be easier to some, some will be harder to others. Please stop dumbing things down and suggesting it because that is not what the majority wants, and the majority is the people actually clearing basic MSQ content.

If people fail it, they can keep trying to go in, they can get friends to help explain if they don't get it, they can look at other dungeons to see how it's done, they can look at the Trust NPCs to see how they dodge things. People can already, keep trying to go in. I don't see what an easier mode can do, infinite rezing sure but I think SE wants players to fall upwards by having them die and learn to avoid, not an unreasonable expectation when all that's lost is a tiny bit of time.

"All of this garbage" is what the gameplay of FFXIV is though. Maybe you don't like the game?

Oh my, aren't you a smart one.
In case you didn't notice, the game is way more then some instanced content with what I call "garbage DDR mechanics". The world, the story, the characters - there is so much aside that DDR nonsense, and that was exactly what kept me around. "Was" of course, as DT's horrible writing has ruined that part of the game now, too.

Some of you in this thread are showing a shocking lack of empathy, awareness, and even basic reading comprehension. The OP never asked for the game to be made easier they simply pointed out that Trusts, which are meant to help slower or disabled players progress through story content, fall short when fight design becomes overwhelming.

Every person is different. That’s not a hard concept. Some of you are teens, some older, but regardless of age or ability, people experience games differently. Just because you don’t struggle doesn’t mean others don’t and dismissing their experience as invalid is both arrogant and cruel.

Telling an older or disabled player “just get good,” or mocking them with comments like “go play Animal Crossing” isn’t just toxic it’s gatekeeping. It’s ableism. And it’s everything this community should be better than. Casual players have just as much right to voice concerns as hardcore players do. You wanted harder content, and you got it. Now let others speak when basic content becomes inaccessible to them.

The level of hostility and exclusion in this thread is genuinely upsetting. If you keep gate keeping casuals, how long do you think Square Enix will keep funding the content you love?

    Do better.

It stinks because that is the whole game. It's just a sad group of losers arguing about how they did something and how it was or wasn't different from how they did it. They'll never lend a hand to help and just continue to denigrate the person struggling. They're the most toxic losers this side of World of Warcraft. I had issues with that boss and I figured it out and did it. I would be willing to help anyone who wants to reach out to me for help. I have zero issues helping people clear.

I get the frustration as some replies have been genuinely awful. But meeting toxicity with more toxicity doesn’t help anyone. The truth is, most of the player base isn’t like this. It’s often just a loud minority on the forums. In-game I have seen toxic behavior get shut down fast, and people are usually quick to offer help when someone’s struggling. Don't let the few bad actors on the forums tarnish the whole player base, friend
