If your content is designed to where you can only access it and be successful via an outside app, the content shouldn't exist to begin with.

Doubt this is the first MMO like that. Discord is way less annoying than Teamspeak or Ventrilo was. And you can run it in a browser if you don't want to download it yet still get the full experience.

Trying to see if they are basically telling casuals to stay the F out of OC and Forked Tower and this is now solely for premade discord groups.

FT groups will enter as an alliance. They will then try to get a fresh instance (which is almost guaranteed if you queue with 48) due to weather time being shortened for fresh instances. In a fresh instance, randoms are unlikely to be in there yet to want FT, so randoms will likely never see these organized FT groups. Thus, it will separate randoms from organized even more.

As others said, being able to recruit in PF without discord for a few hours will become possible, arguably making it a bit more realistic without discord.

Least there’s less likely to be that awkward moment where there’s like 48 people in Forked Tower…in an instance of 50/72 people lol. I think? I’ve had a couple times where everyone ended up doing FT and there was only like 3 people left doing fates etc lol.

They're basically trying to cobble together a way to queue for it directly. It would probably be too difficult to remove it from the zone and make it a separate thing so you can queue like DRS, and this is as close as they can get to that without rebuilding the whole thing.

This feels more honest from them to me than anything else. Much like BA, letting appear that one can pug the content just fine and that the content is designed and advertised to everybody and every kind of player was deceptive and a little deluded.
This is content firmly designed to be accomplished in organized groups, nothing more. It is very apparent that OC is the aggregate of multiple different and contradicting ideas that went into it without being double checked first.

This is the kind of mid patch hotfix and communication I've wanted since I've started playing. I wasn't expecting this, and am extremely pleasantly surprised, I have nothing negative to say about it other than "I hope we get this going forwards" where quality of life changes (that doesn't introduce any new content) from community feedback happen mid patch instead of with major content updates.

Right. As released, you couldn't enter as a 48-person premade. That was the original intent.

This pissed off a significant chunk of the players, so SE changed it.

The methods of access were unfitting for the content provided. It had nothing to do with people joining the provided way and everything to do with clear rates being low and a huge volume of complaints from all directions.

Would you be calling PF insufficient if swathes of players were joining kill parties when they've never been in the savage/ultimate before? The game allows them to and it's the "provided way" of joining, after all.

No, you'd be pointing out how disruptive, selfish, and discourteous the behaviour is. The entry method is a glowing platform and not a PF menu, but the behaviour is still discourteous if you're not keyed in to the same strats/objective/prog point of a group attempting to prog/clear.

Not they dont, you literally can open a PF, build the Group and go in, no "pre made discord only group" and sorry aber if its too much to open a Party in the Partyfinder then idk

You cannot compare PF to the FT entry method my guy. While I understand that you are angry, these two systems were designed completely differently.
