Let's just hope next time they elect to design the system properly in the first place instead of taking a regressive path.

Properly would mean a Normal mode in-zone (where the cipher entry actually makes sense) and putting the Savage version as separate entry with full PF support to begin with.

Least there’s less likely to be that awkward moment where there’s like 48 people in Forked Tower…in an instance of 50/72 people lol. I think? I’ve had a couple times where everyone ended up doing FT and there was only like 3 people left doing fates etc lol.

This is the kind of mid patch hotfix and communication I've wanted since I've started playing. I wasn't expecting this, and am extremely pleasantly surprised, I have nothing negative to say about it other than "I hope we get this going forwards" where quality of life changes (that doesn't introduce any new content) from community feedback happen mid patch instead of with major content updates.

This pissed off a significant chunk of the players, so SE changed it.

The methods of access that were being abused by antisocial, discourteous, selfish players being closed up is the devs fixing oversights. It's not a sudden shift in their direction or intention.

The entry mechanic has the option to trade more ciphers to improve your odds of getting in. The "discourteous, selfish" players are the only ones engaging with it as it was originally designed and intended. What other use could it possibly serve? If the developers had originally intended for the 'pre-made only' situation that the content is in then they likely would not have included the ability to sneak up to the pavilion and drop a fat load of ciphers to snipe a spot. This update is them acknowledging that their design didn't fit the content, and changing it.

Would you be calling PF insufficient if swathes of players were joining kill parties when they've never been in the savage/ultimate before? The game allows them to and it's the "provided way" of joining, after all.

No, you'd be pointing out how disruptive, selfish, and discourteous the behaviour is. The entry method is a glowing platform and not a PF menu, but the behaviour is still discourteous if you're not keyed in to the same strats/objective/prog point of a group attempting to prog/clear.
