I am HYPE for the next alliance raid. The first one was 10/10.

I stopped being scared or mad about the liveletters the moment I realized we are not getting actual roadmaps, no news or opinions about the state of the game. We are just getting "here's the next patch in its minimal glory, teehee random jokes and please buy this new merch".
They are really out of touch and Yoshi P's comment against Blizzard "Do they even play their own game" is starting to come back biting in a very universal karma manner

Tbh, this is the biggest issue I think FFXIV has. I want more commination from devs, why was certain choices are made and such. Same from the player side as well. Maybe an in game polling option could work. If the devs and players communicate with each other the game will get better but alas... It is not bad currently I think it is in a decent spot rn but it could be much much better if both sides can communicate with each other.I stopped being scared or mad about the liveletters the moment I realized we are not getting actual roadmaps, no news or opinions about the state of the game. THIS
-crafted gear has to go except as BiS for ultimate
-the time gating of gear for EX and savage earned by playing the casual game PROPERLY, has to go. (hunts trains aren't meant to be. Treasure maps aren't meant to be spammed ad-nauseam)
-the sprint to complete MSQ, casual, to start Savage, has to go.
* 1 Month for MSQ (feel free to drop ultimate now)
* THEN 1 month 2 Exs,
* THEN 1 month Normals,
* THEN Savage. Start dropping tribe quests now.
(If hardcore don't like it, feel free to play other games until your Ex or savage drops, or skim read MSQ skipping every yellow quest the way you always do and get working on that ultimate)
-crafted gear is now only useful for people who don't want to properly enjoy the casual game, or want to get straight into that Savage.
-allow housing to be put into storage and now people can unsub when the content coming out exceeds their skill interest.
But you will NEVER do this SE. Which is why your player base will continue to eat each other even if you do add more casual content.
People don't change, companies are people. WoW changed because the influence of key people at Activision changed. However, JP is inately more conservative even if influence shifts.
It needs support to change from the playerbase too, but it won't ever get that because the playerbase now = just RP (not bothered), and High End (actively selfishly don't want change, and don't want casuals under their feet in their content)
The game is doomed.
Feel free to hope, but would you be happy/confident betting any significant amount of money in its favour?
Thought not.

Posts like these are why I'm glad the devs ignore player feedback.THIS

Even though the FFXI raid might be my favorite content in the game, I'm feeling more and more like Dawntrail is the worst expansion.
I've pretty much flipped on it completely. I was excited for it and enjoying it at first, although not particularly thrilled about atma. But now I don't even want to play. Like I log in and go there and do a couple CEs and just hate it, and then I log out and do something else. It's annoying because I don't even have all the jobs unlocked and I don't want to be gimped for the next zone.
I disagree I think they need to be MORE cookie cutter, because everything new or different is failing hard. The raids and alliance raid are good and that's the most cookie cutter content there is, and the MSQ is getting a little better in the patches. The most new and different thing they've done is Chaotic, which might be the single worst piece of content they've ever added to the game. And Occult Crescent would probably be better if it was just a copy and paste of Bozja into a new map with less dirt and craters.

Telling people to suck it up and just do the old treadmill, Hildibrand that was… 30 minutes at the start and one of the most boring beasttribes with three quests a day while high end raiders didn’t go even one patch (and with the field zone even got one more raid) without content for them, is a wild take ngl.Except they could farm the new hunt and FATE mounts, do daily PvP, level all their jobs and the two new ones, and learn and farm the two extreme trials. This is all rather casual content and it's not SE's fault if they refuse to engage with it. I found it all very enjoyable and met so many others enjoying it alongside me.
An extreme and unreal trial to learn and farm for casuals. Hildibrand. Beast tribes to do daily and see it progress into something. Custom delivery to see progress into something. Another PvP series to farm
Even the most sweaty hardcore raiders and content creators like Xenos and Arthas agree that they got it good in content in DT and that all others were on the back burner until now.
I usually enjoy your comments because they are thought out and nuanced Jeeqbit but this one here I really have to disagree because that reads like pure defending for the sake of it.
I still enjoy the game enough, loved the 7.2 story after what came before and like the new field zone but I’ll be honest, Forked tower really damped my motivation and even I can see that the field zone has much to improve.
I wait till 7.3 if they tank the story or can keep up. If that stupid cat is pushed into the spotlight again then I am out for the rest of DT.
Other than that I don’t know honestly.
The deep dungeon has to be good after what EO was for example.
At some points it seems that they either have lost passion outside a few members (you can see the “love” still in the music, fights and a few gear pieces and graphic highlights), have no idea what they want themselves or have delegated the newer devs to this game while all others do other things.

Around the time EW and XVI were finished, pretty much every team lead or competent individual dev was promoted to a supervisory position as a reward for their work over the prior decade. That level of abrupt churn obviously had a very large and sudden impact on quality.At some points it seems that they either have lost passion outside a few members (you can see the “love” still in the music, fights and a few gear pieces and graphic highlights), have no idea what they want themselves or have delegated the newer devs to this game while all others do other things.
