An MMO should be sociable by default, you shouldn’t have to trawl discord to find something social
If an MMO doesn’t provide avenues of sociability built into the game itself it’s failing being an MMO, the playerbase shouldn’t have to hold up the games failing with player generated content, this doesn’t mean that player generated content is bad or even undesirable but it shouldn’t be the be all end all of social content like it is in 14
Side note I still have no idea how this relates to me saying the overworld should be more dangerous and less a set dress for the MSQ
As a healer main in this game for nigh on 14 years all I can say is that I’m tired. My role has been eroded of complexity and expression for 3 expansions. I’ve watched the tanks do my role for me for 2 expansions and my feedback and critiques continue to fall on deaf ears.
I have no idea who modern healers are designed for but I know now it’s not me. This is the first expansion I’m truly considering dropping the healer role and not returning, so if that was the goal- congratulations I guess
Because you want danger at every turn. There are monsters in the world. You're just too high in level for them to be a threat to you. And you say this while ignoring that there are things to do in the world. Just not what you want it to be and for people new to msq, they have that experience. They can't fly and everything that sees them will chase them down until they run far enough that they give up or force them into a confrontation.
I could be misunderstanding you. Maybe if you were more specific about what you want?
That’s the problem. The overworld only “makes” sense in the context of the MSQ, anyone who has finished the MSQ is never in any danger (whether because they are overlevelled or because they are on a gatherer), they can just fly wherever they want (so locations become dependent on flying, notice how all modern zones are basically giant bowls compared to anything in ARR) and basically everything to do in them that’s not gathering is more designed for doing during the MSQ anyway. Hunt trains are fine I guess but I don’t know anyone who genuinly enjoys them rather than just doing them for fast tomesBecause you want danger at every turn. There are monsters in the world. The game doesn’t offer the type of quests that really make you explore the world. The game doesn’t offer a sense of exploration or reasons to return to the overworld the explore or do anything that’s not hunts or gathering and the design is flat and stale. Why isn’t the main overworld designed like eureka’s overworld?
The overworld shouldn’t only “feel” meaningful when you are first doing the MSQ
