    I never intend to play on mobile so how is housing and glamour different? Also what's wrong with the current open world? This is the only mmo I've ever played so I don't know what people expect. We have fates and fate chains and hunt monsters and sightseeing. The world is also used for gathering jobs. They look nice, we can gpose in them. What more are you expecting?

    The open world feels fake, is barely used for anything and isn’t remotely dangerous

    When the game sends us out into the world it doesn’t feel like going exploring through dangerous lands, it feels like dancing on a stage set up for the MSQ.

    Fates haven’t been updated in years and their only real benefit is bicolour gemstones which is basically a patchwork fix to the fact Fates don’t do anything. Gathering outside of something like cosmic just exists to artificially gate how long it takes you to get new gear, there is no danger to seeking out things, no adventure to finding what you want. It’s just whack a sparkling tree with the same collectible rotation we have used for years.

    And other than that there is just nothing. Genuine question when did you last go to the ruby sea or cortheas western highlands. The zones just don’t have proper functions that make it feel like a connected dangerous world

    As a healer main in this game for nigh on 14 years all I can say is that I’m tired. My role has been eroded of complexity and expression for 3 expansions. I’ve watched the tanks do my role for me for 2 expansions and my feedback and critiques continue to fall on deaf ears.

    I have no idea who modern healers are designed for but I know now it’s not me. This is the first expansion I’m truly considering dropping the healer role and not returning, so if that was the goal- congratulations I guess

    If you're not enjoying the game then just quit. Don't keep giving SE money if you're not having fun, hoping for things to get better.

    I quit WoW years ago when I stopped having fun and I was better off for it. If I stopped having fun then I would do the same thing I did with WoW and quit. While I wish things in FF14 were a bit better, I'm still enjoying my time playing it casually. I'm not going to quit or boycott the game because you're unhappy.

    i don't want that. It was a pain already going through msq and being chased by everything. Even when we were meeting an npc for a quest suddenly i have to stop mid chat to kill something that spotted me. It was annoying. And I go back to those areas for hunts, gathering, nostalgia, fate farming, custom deliveries and eventually one day i'm going to go through the sight seeing log and gpose a bunch in my favorite areas. Just flying around and listening to the music in some areas is relaxing. The world is dangerous but not if you're way above the level of the dlc.

    I personally want better writing for the current patch. Damn 8.0. Who knows when that will be? I want hats and all universal hairs for viera and hrothgar. I want the weird issues with my character's looks after the graphic update to be fixed.

    I’m not sure how anything I suggested in answer to your question makes you believe I want a solo experience

    14 literally couldn’t be less cooperative if it tried short of replacing player characters with NPC’s

    What cooperative elements? In cities/world no one talks and in duties everybody is just pressing their raidwides and doing their personal damage rotation. These people could be bots or outright removed but the game needs the artificial difficulty of a choreography x8 or it would fall apart completely. Make the Ultimates and Savage tiers solo content and there will be people who clear all in an afternoon.

    I remember when I was as late to the Eureka party every one move on to other map and I am still on first one. Killing one mob takes ages and half my HP bar. Running through the map is almost suicide as I am very likely will be dead if two or more mob start attacking me. Can’t imagine when this happens when i m doing FATE. Then Dev seem to have learn and come improved Bozja.

    No matter what you do job exclusion will happen due to stupid reasons. You can even still see jobs underperform and not be meta despite everything we've given up for "balance"

    Game is held back by being too scared of job exclusion or a actual "meta" forming, because of this we have safe plastic fake balance, which truly does hurt my interest in job design entirely as theirs no real job to be invested or feel like my pick has anything interesting.

    I can understand not wanting to go back to HW design or not wanting the game to be imbalanced, I agree to a extent that we shouldn't just revert to old designs, but we've given up so much in terms of job design where honestly the game for me would be a lot more interesting and fun if they took even a slight risk towards making jobs feel unique, theirs no point in having 21 jobs if we actually only got 4 (tank, melee, ranged, healer)
