That's where the BA and DRS fights are and at that point it doesn't even seem fun, it's basically just a free carry from people taking a bunch of rewards off the top.

Requiring me to go into a discord, give a bunch of personal info to a bot for marketing purposes, unprivate all my lodestone info, and sit through a lecture in Voice Chat before I can push any buttons is not my idea of a fun time in FFXIV.

Besides I can't believe people will use these as any kind of measuring stick for skill when they seem like they'll be super on-rails after the first few weeks, when guides come out and everyone is required to use them before they zone in.
I agree that BA is exactly what you describe. It was extremely interesting at release to go through and actually figure out, but now that it's figured out, unless you have one of those handful of responsibility roles in the alliance, 90% of the players are just sheep following basic callouts on discord without even understanding what's going on.

I blame the fully scripted side of everything tbh. That's the main culprit on what is otherwise some of the best non high end raiding content in the game.
