Yeah, casting was an issue too. I have an issue with a LOT of the EN VN work, not remotely just Sena. Not entirely sure if it was Kate or someone else entirely that decided on the roles for folks, but they did a baaaaaad job.Even within roles matching our biological sex, there are certain tones I couldn't reach even if I had a shred of acting talent.
It feels like the casting directors really did Sena a disservice. They should have cast in a better suited role. I think she's good enough to get work, but wow they did her zero favors here.

...Not to be that person, but every other role on that reel is either a man, I *think* a goblin - which I'd note was pretty damn high pitched, and a DQ Imp. Are there other roles that Sena took that portray a woman? Because if not, atop of the forced accent, then unfortunately the issue is kind of clear.
https://senabryer.com/voiceactor this has vo.This begs the question why they would cast someone who's good at doing both deep and higher pitched male voices, to the role of a latino female. The polar opposite of their ability.
I don't know if she had prior work outside of this reel that showcased feminine voice acting, but everything here combined with the poor performance in game is just telling me this was a direct miscast, and I'd like to believe she was cast because of either nepotism or her being trans, only because of the fact that Hollywood and many entertainment avenues are well known to cast people based on superficial aspects instead of their ability.
Ironically, Sena herself quote tweeted about this exact issue, which in itself is ironic considering the role she was cast for vs. her skills in acting. That's the last person who should be attacking that issue.
Talk about pot calling the kettle black. Why are you pretending that the people being critical of Sena and their performance are the NPC's who blindly follow youtuber opinions, when we all know the only reason you're defending them is because they are/you are transgender. You have expressed exactly zero cogent arguments and just point and say TRANSPHOBE!!! as if that means anything.

Unfortunately after listening to all of the samples, none of it suggests she could have pulled off Wuk Lamathttps://senabryer.com/voiceactor this has vo.![]()
Should have picked her up for something else.

If anything, this role as Wuk killed her VA career if all these people are isolating both the character and the VA as 2 separate entities and still criticizing both negatively.

It's a lot of work at least, and I do see other female roles, but most of it seems like small random indie projects and/or minor roles. I believe anything she thought was worth anything was placed in that highlight reel to showcase the biggest works, but it just so happens outside of Wuk, everything shown is a male voice. It sounds like everyone except SE casted correctly if its this isolated.https://senabryer.com/voiceactor this has vo.
The absolute lack of self awareness in this comment is absolutely astounding... You literally have people foaming at the mouth whenever someone drops an 's' while referring to Sena. Screaming about how they need reported, how they're [long list of insults], how we deserve more Wuk Lamat just to make them suffer.
Ya'll are an absolute joke.
Tbf yeah. I just drop any attemp to speak with people about that topic. It's just nonsense. And now i start to understand, why my country is pushing anti-lgbt so much. The absolute lack of self awareness in this comment is absolutely astounding... Apologies? The voice actor can just block these people. They can also go to the police about it if it's severe enough, you know, like a normal public figure. Viewing some of their posts, it's no wonder people dislike them. Hate begets hate. Though I won't believe they are being harassed by as many as they claim. It appears they will suffer themselves nearly anything to be an insult, including valid criticism. No doubt, the casting choice was horrendous, for that we can certainly blame Square. Monotone, with issues reaching certain pitches and issues conveying emotion, not to mention the accent, the awfully portrayed accent, that in and of itself is an insult to South Americans who really don't have much to relate to in XIV. I was very excited for Tural when I learned of the theme. Wuk Lamat, being the primary person we spoke to throughout the expansion, has ruined that theme, entirely, with the power of their VA's voice. Again, Square is at fault for the casting choice. Maybe the VA could have done a better job elsewhere. Certainly not in the lead role of a major title. Spiiin, aaaaa leesen tu me.
