The words spoken in this thread have plenty of meaning. You just refuse to listen to the ones you don't like.
Engage in a meaningful discussion? Wait, it's not going in your favor.
"MODS!!! Shut it down!!!"
Howdy o/
What meaningful discussion? The thread is just turning into people ranting against the LGBTQ+ community, and it's not a good look. I didn't expect every comment to have sympathy for the VA, but my god I didn't expect it to be this bad. None of this belongs here, especially since it doesn't even have anything to do with the game. Most of us do not want to argue with hateful people like this because we've done it in the past and it goes nowhere. Like, why are these people sharing their anecdotes that have nothing to do the VA or any of us, and then using them to judge the LGBTQ+ community as a whole? It's so wild.
The VA made it about the LGBTQ community, when she played the victim card of "I'm getting hate for my performance because I'm trans!" Literally nobody in game would have known, or cared, if her performance wasn't trash. SHE decided to take valid criticisms of her dog water performance, and make it about her identity. So if that's how she wants to play, that's how people are going to play. You don't get to double standard this. What meaningful discussion? Judging from this and other threads....Sena seem to have a point tho.The VA made it about the LGBTQ community, when she played the victim card of "I'm getting hate for my performance because I'm trans!" As other said bevor FF14 has a lot of subpar voice actors and never was it that much of a problem.
And people like to ignore that there are Voice Directors in such projects and those play a important role.
Which likes to get ignored in the conversation completly as if only Sena was part of the process.
ARR's voice acting sucked across the board, and people are more than willing to point that out, so that's not completely true. HOWEVER, DT had the entire expansion focus around a single character, and the VA still managed to phone it in. It's a huge problem because we literally had to listen to this F-Tier voice acting the entire expansion. That is why people are angry about it. It isn't ARR's occasional voice acting, especially since a lot of that was unvoiced. It's the entire 90-100 experience, voiced acted like that.Judging from this and other threads....Sena seem to have a point tho.
