Only if they had earn the right to be represent, because that's not an entitlement . The current climate had make identity and social politic a very lucrative business, and people will try to exploit every "assets" available to them, not because they care, but because it's benefit them. I'll give you another example:

- Remember years ago when Elizabeth Warren claimed she's identified as a native-American and it blew up in her face?

- Say if you were a native American and only have two choices, which you would prefer to represent you:

+ a Non-native American who actually live among the tribes and understand their days to day struggle.

+ Someone who lived their whole life as outsider but think they're entitled to the identity claim because of a blip in their DNA test.


Now I'm sure the folks from South America would love to have a representative. But only if they are given an authentic representation, not getting insulted by a fake one. Because in the latter case, which is this case, claiming they represent a group is a farce for the shake of benefit. The only thing they represent is their own self-interest.
