Now I'm sure the folks from South America would love to have a representative. But only if they are given an authentic representation, not getting insulted by a fake one. Because in the latter case, which is this case, claiming they represent a group is a farce for the shake of benefit. The only thing they represent is their own self-interest.

Thank you. That's exactly what angers me - and a ton of other folks from here. The "pretend" surface actions of "Oh, we absolutely care, totally!" that do not go more than surface deep. As demonstrated by the ridiculous size of this thread, and basically any actual born and bread south american, DT fumbles his hard, and it's not just with the accents, but with cultures and food aswell (haha, monocultures and tacos, get it guys? So south american!)

Also not you specifically but I wake up and see at least two new posts being transphobic, calling her "boi" and a biological male and it's really hard to feel like some people aren't just being disingenuous and being hateful to be hateful.

Only if they had earn the right to be represent, because that's not an entitlement . The current climate had make identity and social politic a very lucrative business, and people will try to exploit every "assets" available to them, not because they care, but because it's benefit them. I'll give you another example:

- Remember years ago when Elizabeth Warren claimed she's identified as a native-American and it blew up in her face?

- Say if you were a native American and only have two choices, which you would prefer to represent you:

+ a Non-native American who actually live among the tribes and understand their days to day struggle.

+ Someone who lived their whole life as outsider but think they're entitled to the identity claim because of a blip in their DNA test.

I can't for sure know Sena's original intentions but I'd like to and want to feel like they're positive and not taking the role from somebody more deserving for personal gain.

don't want to feel negatively about it because that would be real disappointin. Looking more into it, she doesn't have a great track record, she took an Afro Latina role despite not being afro Latina and I do think that's incredibly bad. She stated she didn't know until recording but I do believe she should have dropped that role there and then personally.

1. Not everyone who lives in America is American, not everyone who plays NA lives in America or identifies with Americanism.

2. Most Hispanics I know don't identify as white they identify as Hispanic/Latino and don't like being called white, because they don't want to be identified with their oppressors.

Speaking for myself, whenever I hear some "latino" or "latina" in media randomly injecting words in spanish amidst the english to remind the audience about how latinos they are, I die a little inside, and the fake accents don't help much either.

But then again, I'm the type that doesn't understand the whole representation thing. I'm a south american woman who grew up with Leon-o, Optimus Prime and Kenshin Himura as role models. None of them share my gender nor ethnicity, and one of them is not even human... but I guess seeing past the looks and focusing on characteristics it's wrong or something.

Okay, I will bite here...
Even if someone goes conform with the T-believe, the whole point of it is that the biological sex is not the same as said gender. Therefore it is pretty stupid to call mit transphobia or hatefull if you refer to the VA as biological male if that is the case because that would still not misgendering the VA.

And I hate to break it to you, but yes the biological sex has a big influence on many things. The voice is such a thing.

IF the VA has to change their voice to sound like a woman + has to use to fake an accent will lead to overwhelming focus on those factors... which will be one of the reasons the VA couldnt adapt in the emotional range which made Wuk sound so flat.

BTW not everyone has to go with the T-Narative, that doesnt make them hatefull or phobic in any way.

So could you plz stop playing the victim here and focus on the more important stuff?

You're all weird. Stop taking this out on the voice actress. The producer and director is Yoship and he delegates the english side of the game production to his english sector in CUB3. If you have any issues in regards to the english presentation take it up with them, not with the voice actress.

I could care less what she looks like or sounds like. She did a great job as far as I'm concerned. If anyone's looking for spanish accents then by all means ask square enix to create a spanish version of the game, you could then turn on spanish voices for dawntrail msq.

Radz at han "indian" characters didn't have the stereotypical "indian accent" and in my opinion that didn't take away from their voice acting or anything. You don't really need an accent for good voice acting.
