Problem with toxic casual players on this forum

I feel like some sort of clarification needs to be offered:

What exactly are we defining as casual? I feel like the definition keeps shifting so I'd like to ask.

Is it anyone who doesn't do ultimate content?
Is it anyone who doesn't know their rotation?
Is it anyone who doesn't parse themselves regularly?
Is it anyone who has an issue with difficulty?

Over the past few weeks I've seen:
- Casual meaning anyone who doesn't do ults
- Casual meaning anyone who touches gatherers + crafters
- Casual meaning anyone who doesn't actively use ACT
- Casual meaning anyone who plays for story content
- Casual meaning anyone who has an issue with WAR's healing or VPRs "busy style"
- Casual meaning anyone who doesn't like ultimates + wants them removed or nerfed from the dev's schedule

If I were to smash all of those together, I feel like at least 90% of the playerbase would be considered casual, if not more. It's why I personally feel labeling something/someone as casual is entirely subjective and not based on a real standard.

Furthermore, casual players aren't "ruining the experience", I don't really think anyone is. I think times are shifting to where SE is more concerned with attracting a new audience so they can future proof. The new generation is fixated on short form media and easily digestible content, so making things simpler makes sense for me if they're trying to turn 14 into something appealing for the next 10 years of incoming players.

Honestly, none of these things define someone as casual.
Casual people are people who simply play the game, enjoy whatever they're doing and playing with friends.

- They can be doing ultimates
- They can be doing gatherers or crafting
- They can be running ACT
- They can be doing story content
- They might even be soloing dungeons as WAR and putting healers out of business

The thing is, they are just playing. They are having fun, and not making threads constantly left and right about how the game needs to be changed. Because they're too busy using whatever time they have available that day to spend it on the game to have fun.
Whatever "fun" is for them at that point.

What you're descibing is people who - for various reasons - decide not to share their opinion on the game. You don't know if they like it all or only parts, what issues they have and what they would change...
This doesn't make them casuals. It makes them silent in the context of leaving feedback.

Correct, and that's your average casual player.
They don't bother with leaving feedback, they don't bother with complaining on forums.
They just play, or move on.

The amount of people making these threads, and participating in them, compared to the amount of people actually playing is statistically speaking neglectable.
Not saying feedback isn't needed, but a casual player just doesn't care.
