try other mmos like wow, gw2, etc.
Hopefully they will fill the hole while you wait for 8.0. I haven't really played the game hardcore since SB so im only interested in the casual content and midcore content now. Job design is very bad so im on a similar boat.
Also lmao yet again proven right that this community is fake nice, the second someone voices they're upset with the game they say you don't matter and belittle you. Imagine acting as if someone doesn't like the game you like is a personal attack lmao, go outside.

You are talking to the void, the developers do not read english general.

OP you have better luck with Reddit than the official forums in terms of feedback.

Good luck criticizing xiv on reddit. You'll get down voted within the first few minutes. Square will ignore anything not on the main page of the subreddit. Square enix only cares about praise and art in social media. You have to get creative and hire an artist to explain the bad state of job/role and encounter design for them to even consider it.

My sub ends tomorrow, so I believe this will be my last message for a while--maybe until 8.0. I have not touched a single minute of Dawntrail's story, its dungeons, or its content. Yet it's not because I'm burnt out of FFXIV. On the contrary, I have a very strong urge to play through Dawntrail's content, but what I have absolutely no drive to do whatsoever is put up with Endwalker job design any longer. It's a weird feeling, having both a constant urge to want to play the game and yet dreading the idea of actually playing the game. I want to explore the Story. I refuse to put up with Dosis spam. I want to try Arcadion. I am burnt out of DPS jobs. I want to see the upcoming field operations. I have no interest in trying tank jobs. I feel torn to say the least.

I'll get to the point. I love FFXIV, but I hate Endwalker PVE job design. I would play through the story as PVP Sage if I could, but I can't, and there's not a single PVE job that I want to touch with a 10 foot pole. Yoshi P, if you truly want FFXIV to be a game for everyone, do better.

Because this ongoing hyper simplified job design has alienated not just me, but many others who have also resigned and left the game. There has to be a better middle ground that's still approachable but doesn't exclude the players who want to engage with job design. Don't wait for 8.0 to make changes. Just waiting for 8.0 to address these issues is cutting corners when there are things you could do now to make job design more enjoyable without sweeping reworks.

Make healers more enjoyable now. Leave Viper alone for the players who enjoy its complexity. Restore nonstandard gameplay aspects to Black Mage and other jobs as well. There is a healthy middle ground you can achieve with job design, and this is clearly not it. Goodbye for now everyone, I hope all of you are able to find enjoyment in the jobs even if I cannot and enjoy what Dawntrail has in store. I sincerely hope I can return sooner rather than later.
But... What's this need to tell everyone? Are you some kind of idol that everyone knows?

I don't even know your name.
You'll post when you get back, right? Promise!?

    xD...

Overly dramatic or not, I applaud anyone voting with their wallet instead of merely grumbling while they continue to pay up.

I hope you find a game you do enjoy OP, there are lots of them out there!

From the analysis details, it doesn't look like there were many factors that were considered. There was gender, demographic distribution and platform, however the demographics were extremely narrow "The mean age is 24.5, with a standard deviation of 7.33".

So the authors can tell how many were on PC, for example, but there's no indication of how many were on, for example, an MMORPG, as opposed to a solo game. Nor does it clearly factor in the considerable number of gamers that are older than around 30 years old. You may find this interesting https://headphonesaddict.com/pc-gaming-statistics/

I'm sorry to see you go, ty_taurus. May you find a game with the PvE job design you desire. Peace!

Everything they do pushes all the old players away, so they can bring in new players who have no idea about the past, who wont complain cuz they dont know anything or care about anything unless its bright and colorful and flashy and glittery and such wao

I don't think the new players will even stay around considering how they hated the story. A lot of new players are casual social players who prefer to hang out and talk instead of doing battle content and especially hard battle content, I imagine when vr becomes more affordable all of the social players will go over to VR chat or something instead. Maybe coming back for the X.0 patches for the MSQ.
The game is really bad at guiding new players into the grind content and keeping retention, used to be more balanced with high skill ceiling jobs so some people would remain to try and master their job. Though this has the caviate of scaring people away from them. Sort of damned If you do damned if you don't, I feel bad for modern MMO game developers.
