As long as it's not locked behind a raid series, I'm looking forward to checking it out. I just hope it's not boring 'fates with a bunch of people' gameplay.

Honestly.. how the hell else do you expect them to create some form of dynamic zone gameplay within the game's architecture? If you remove the "FATE" aspect.. do you just want an open world full of simple mobs to kill for arbitrary reasons? Scattered large mobs that need a group to kill? That's just a FATE anyway.
It's almost got to be FATE-based, as that's how devs can spawn in things that don't constantly exist on the map, add specific scripted NPC interactions, add mobs with meaningful mechanics, etc.
I'd love to hear what you imagine these zones could be without utilizing the FATE system at all, cuz the game doesn't exactly have a wealth of options to keep an open-world zone dynamic and active for group content otherwise.
GW2 has a bunch of meta events that are all more interesting than just FATEs, so *shrug*Honestly.. how the hell else do you expect them to create some form of dynamic zone gameplay within the game's architecture? They can potentially separate the relic from the field content, but they'd have to add something of a similar value in its absence, one way or another.i am so excited for this content.
my biggest hopes are basically just 2 things.
removed exp loss completely, while i am not personally bothered by it, it is a big reason people won't play the content losing exp feels bad i get it.
don't put the relic in it, if we go by how SE does relic's in pairs it won't be but that doesn't mean it isn't possible.

So people are mad that relics may actually require...effort in 7.0? God forbid this game doesn't hand absolutely everything to you on a silver platter.
If you want to do the new exploration zone content, do it. If you don't, then don't. However, don't complain if something you want is locked behind content you're not interested in. Do the content if you want it that badly, or find something else to occupy your time.
Nahm if anything we need more content like Bozja and Eureka, in the previous expac out of boredom i had to do 4 ARR relics because island office, that one heaven and hell dungeon that no one does nor criterion or variant weren't fullfilling or rewarding.
I must be one of the few ones who enjoyed the story of Bozja and Zadnor, the story told in the field notes and the characters from both factions, Gunnhildr's Blades and the IVth Imperial Legion. Bozja and Eureka has everything for almost everyone: lore, relics, gil, glams, gears, jobs playing differently thanks to lost actions (variant was a downgrade to this system) and especially an open world where newbies and veterans are welcome with the chat feeling alive instead of the sole greeting before doing a dungeon/raid/trial. If there's one i would remove is that annoying 10 min wait to do Delubrum reginae and add whatever currency is used to buy gear in the current expac to the activities in there.

Here's a crazy idea - if you don't like it, don't play it.
A lot of people do like Eureka and Bozja and do want that style of content to return. If it isn't for you, that's okay. The game isn't being designed specifically to cater to you as an individual. There will be some things that you like and other things that you don't like.

I don't get what was so "fun" about Eureka / Bozja.
It was just mind numbing mob grinds. Especially Eureka's early incarnation pre nerf was absolutely fuckin horrible.
And then there is the bullshit that is Baldesions Arsenal. To this day I did not manage to get the mount because I can't be arsed to dick around with frikkin Discord servers etc just to get into instanced content. It gets a problem when the gate the relic weapons exclusively behind said content.Effort LMAO.
Both Bozja and Eureka were as mind boggingly simple as it gets. It was just trashmob grind for hours on end + a raid dungeon that is on the level of normal 8 man.

The steps had steps within themselves. If we were to count them, you'd get tomestone turn ins at a ratio of 6 steps that can use tomestones out of 11. Also the tomestone rates were much higher then. Turning them in took a long time if you solely went with the tomestone route, especially with Unidentifiables. Back then it took 20 of each of the 4, so 80 in total and went at a steep rate of 300 each.
