Someone tell me again with a straight face that "premades don't make a difference". Someone tell me again that "cheating doesn't exist".

I have not in my entire time of playing Frontlines seen a match end *this* quickly or the scores so astronomically lopsided. And the worst part is I'M TRAPPED HERE BECAUSE OF THE BLOODY DYNAMIS LOCKDOWN. Dear friggin' god... all of us pretty much just stood and waited in the spawn while red finished destroying our big ice for their ill-gotten win because there was literally no point in trying anymore. Two minutes of mass-nudging around to avoid a kick, while blue futility tried to fight them anyway (and at which point red won on kills and didn't need the big ice after all).

Scores more lopsided than that have been reported in this thread, but yeah it sucks. Particularly since you're stuck where most of the premades are currently farming. Unfortunately, Shatter is by far the most predictable map in terms of spawns, to the point it feels scripted when a premade is taking advantage of the fact. Tedious, unimaginative, and worst of all IMO, imposed by a small group of people who think they know better than everyone else. But it's a playstyle that contains within it the seeds of its own destruction.

    Tick tock.

At this point I'm tired of trying just to lose, and even if (not when, *if*) I win, there's no satisfaction in that either because I know with 100% certainty that it was due to RNG giving me the most people in a premade and/or using plugins. Effort and skill are a myth, and sportsmanship and competition were left for dead in a ditch years ago apparently. I'm done giving a damn, I'm just going to show up for the XP and series progress and wait for the outcome to be decided for me.

Premades make a difference, especially right now when people are so bad, but it's 1000% more an issue of this absolute atrocity of a map.

this is definitely the case, it also doesn't help that most of the roulette-only pvp players just sit around licking ice with 0 peripheral vision of the oh-so-skilled DRK trains coming to press their skillful 3 button aoe bonanzas.

Yeah it's no coincidence that the only people I have heard saying they like this version of Shatter are premade commanders. The map lay-out plays into their hands through predictable spawns, then they know where a herd of weak players will be standing paying no attention to incoming threats.

I would be so interested to see what happens if you switch the objectives on Onsal and Seal. Scrap Shatter and have a 4-day rotation with each using their original objectives, then swapping.

Blowouts like the one shown aren't because of premades. This would have happened with or without premades because one team had competent players and another team simply gave up. If the dark knight on red had queued into that game solo, the result would have been the same. The games where a premade actually matters are the games that are close.

There is no cheating. I understand a game like this can be frustrating, but blaming it on cheating is not the way. That's just going to get you hoping for a solution that will never come. The poster said their team just stood and waited at spawn. What else could the result have been? Blowouts suck. In those games, try to put less weight on the end score, and more on your personal stats. Trying to get a good place on the damage leaderboard or taking risky potshots isn't just a way to get entertainment, but can also help you improve. Speaking of improving, feel free to reach out to others if you want advice. Have a chat in wolves den, join a discord, watch frontline players who stream. Despite how some people have characterized them, the community has been incredibly welcoming to me, and is generally chill provided you don't try to start something.

I sympathize because I'm also stuck in this cursed server (also I may or may not be responsible for the dynamis "invasion." I just wanted to play with friends...) but my frustrations are much more on the players who only queue for daily bonuses respond with hostility to any attempt to try to help them win.

Blowouts are frequently the result of a well-organized premade, even if half of that blow-out is produced by players seeing the premade and giving up/throwing.

How can you possibly say there is no cheating? Cheating occurs in every game mode. My guess is it's not common in FL, but the idea there is none is silly, particularly given the YT evidence that there is.

they ARE because of premades, because the people who tend to premade are the same people who make 37 chat macros to try to lead the frontline around instead of letting it play dynamically, and they're also queueing with 2 DRK and a combination of the various burst jobs.

This is a really important point that tends to get completely overlooked by premades in general and their commanders in particular. Their assumption is that through aggressive commanding they are doing the rest of the team an enormous favor. That isn't actually how the rest of the team feels at all. No doubt some will be grateful for the quick win a premade invariably produces. Many of us prefer a more dynamic playstyle that does not involve taking orders from a self-appointed Napoleon.

    Hubris, I swear.

    Tick tock.
