Sure wish some of that impressive expressiveness that these great new models are supposed to show was present in Dawntrail cause I've done the MSQ on two characters now and they are less expressive in cutscenes than they were before.

Oh, so when I'm seeing less expressiveness in my character, that doesn't matter, it's subjective, but when you see more expressiveness in your character it matters, because you like like what they've done. I see.Perhaps it might have been an issue with your characters then? As my Au Ra was plenty more expressive and I could easily notice the subtle changes in her countenance throughout the expansion as I played. I was genuinely impressed. Even the current expression emotes we have got an upgrade and look far more expressive than the their lifeless counterparts before. I also don't know how anyone could see a certain prominent character in the second part and actually think characters are less expressive when the subtle facial movements, lip twitches, etc. were on full display during scenes with them.
So you know the first one, which I deleted, was towards the person above me at the time who said they are "100% right and know they are right", not you.
^This
Your post was a jumpscare that appeared after I had hit submit.
That, quite literally had nothing to do with you, which is why I deleted it. As this forum's post priority order sucks.
I am, quite literally, asking if it is a problem with how they changed your characters face and presenting the idea that maybe some facial models aren't as expressive as others.
Frankly, I wasn't even going to reply to you in the first place. Your criticisms are valid and if you feel your character isn't as expressive, then who am I to say you're wrong?
The thread creator, however, is combative and stating subjective opinion as if it were fact. That deserves to be called out.
Regardless, I'm deleting most posts in here, as clearly people only wish to be combative.
I'll leave this one for clarification, however, as clearly there was a misunderstanding between us and I want that to be cleared up.

You can improve upon the old models as far as you want to- you can subdivide for days, you can keep the exact same face without completely resculpting it
You can add thousands of bones or rig a tongue to the old model without a single issue
Of course it's ridiculous to throw out what's already been done now. But you're missing the issue, still
They didn't just "improve" the faces. They changed them into someone they weren't before
If the new design was truly faithful to the old, and kept the "character you know and love", there would be not a single complaint
That would be a great reason if they actually did anything with it, but instead we got the exact same canned animations and expressions as always. Nothing has changed. The bones in the face are triple what they were before, there is a fully rigged tongue, the face and neck are no longer inextricably connected via their bones; which previously caused odd warping and visible seams in motions, allowing for more fluid movement and subtle facial animations among so many other changes.

I'm sorry, I don't buy that and I don't know you or your heart so maybe I should give it the benefit of the doubt, but if it had been the case of you replying to them you could have easily edited with a quote to theirs instead of deleting, cause it feels like you just tried to double back after the fact cause you clearly know how to edit a post.
That said, yeah, we're all at a point of being combative, because even if we politely gave feedback it was not listened to or taken into consideration and that doesn't feel good, we had to play the game with models that give very different impressions than the originals that we choose, there is no way to fantasia to fix what they took away and then there are so many that come into the feedback posts to troll and swear up and down that things look the same, and our feedback shouldn't be heard or considered. Feels incredibly disingenuous.

No clue what's going on but your phrasing sounds like you should take a breath for a moment and remember this is a video game. Having this much attachment to your character that you're throwing assumptions at people and making being combative something that is acceptable is going too far and ultimately won't lead where you want to go.I'm sorry, I don't buy that and I don't know you or your heart so maybe I should give it the benefit of the doubt, but if it had been the case of you replying to them you could have easily edited with a quote to theirs instead of deleting, cause it feels like you just tried to double back after the fact cause you clearly know how to edit a post.
