Though given recent trend, they're clearly moving more toward party play and allowing people to do quests together, and if anything AF quests are probably a good example of what a party based questline is going to be like. They're difficult, not soloable but you don't exactly NEED a full party.
To have the ability to do it with someone else is good. Being forced to do it with someone else is bad.

Because I wasn't all 50 when 1.21 came out I am really struggling to find a party to get some of the AF gear now. One player in the biggest LS on the server spent at least 5 hours yesterday getting to 3/8 people for doing the last bard quest and I still need 3 levels of ARC to do that. I am not looking forward to trying to get together a group for that when I hit 50 and for the people who recently started; God help them, they will have an absolute nightmare getting the AF gear and will be totally at the mercy of kind strangers.

The more storyline content SE forces us to do in parties, the less I like the game and it really is only a reasonable thing to complete for those already fully ready to do the content on the day the patch comes out. The first day after 1.21 I had one class ready at 50 and it was a breeze to do as there were dozens of people sitting by the quest NPCs just waiting for parties. Now, I'm lucky to meet up with one person when I go see a quest NPC and shouts in Uldah get more futile every day for this content as there are fewer people left to do it at the right level.
