Why do I need to look good for anyone or accept being told that something isn't for me anymore? I'm very well aware I'm not who Square wants to take money from and it's also why I think unsubbing as protest is barely useful as well. I'm doing it over the eye strain the game causes me now but that's because it's a waste of money to play a game I can't enjoy and I think accessibility is an even bigger issue than boring gameplay design.

I'm not interested in being respectable to protect the comfort of people who are happy with how things are and I'm not interested in being told to go play other roles, jobs, or games that I already play. It is not the job of a protestor to protect the feelings of people who accept the status quo. I'm sorry your vibes get ruined by reading online forums. Maybe you should take a break from them too?

Healers are expected to DPS in this game and so I'm asking for more interesting DPS options. Healers have been given so much room to DPS under common conditions that do occur that I would like it to be more fun and interesting. That's it. That doesn't change other jobs. It does not have to alter the skill floor or ceiling, actually. You can make changes that make people fed up with healing happy and also change absolutely nothing for the rest of the playerbase.

P.S. Healers have never been EXPECTED to dps except by toxic players that have come from other games. My daughter has gotten that also from some people recently trying to tell her how to play her class. Block them and move on. You are letting the toxicity get to you unless you are one of those toxic players, at which point, FIND ANOTHER GAME!!.

I, personally, am going for point #2 and my sub has already lapsed and will remain so until I see actual action taken to improve the gameplay loop of healers.

Take the last poster that got the strike thread going (the pink haired viera) she came in never having posted before on that thread, gave her opinion then closed with “you elitists” and wrote half a paragraph strawmanning. None of us said anything to her beforehand and she chose to open with vitriol, so we defend our points as we have many times (some people being excessively snarky about it I admit) then you come in and say we are all just vitriolic and we ant an echo chamber

If you look on my profile past what you see right now you'll see I have 3 jobs as my preferred class. Reaper. Gnb. And sch. Now. I haven't touched dt sch yet but it is a job I adore and love. I've healed savage and numerous ex with it so I have experience in stressful situation. This has made me appreciate the importance of the simple dps rotation it has. That you can easily worry about what is your actual job. Without having to stress over a dps rotation. Something I can't say is true for gunbreaker. Yet I don't see any of you crying over the tank homogenization? When confronted with arguments that don't fit your agenda. All you have left is to insult me and call me stupid. Your strike will fizzle out and se will entirely ignore It. Its time to play another job

I would reply that you can look at my post history to see I do argue against tank homogenisation but then you’d just say “I was speaking generally stop thinking yourself so important that I was talking to you directly”

I won't go in that thread, its full of negativity and even if I did call her out you guys would have jumped on me for some reason or another, I have completely written that thread off as a bait thread and I am not interested in it, I would advise all other people to avoid it aswell but I am not their representative and I don't speak for them nor do they speak for me.

You cannot argue against homogenization yet demand another dps spamming job that ignores the entire point of its self. The job will not change in the way you want. Sage is the closest thing we have and I dislike sage for that exact reason. What allures me to sch is "consequence" that should I waste my charges on dps I will suffer later for it. But that I can use my skill in the fight to better make those decisions. Sadly i think dt has ruined it but I haven't played it yet.

I 100% agree with you on what draws you to SCH because that’s exactly what draws me to SCH. My problem with your point so to speak is that saying “another DPS job that ignores the entire point of itself” is exactly what all 4 healers already are and they do it in exactly the same way (1 nuke 1 dot, 1-2 flavour abilities. The healers physically cannot be homogenised further on that point, SGE and SCH are also ridiculously similar on the healing side as well.

I agree that if all healers were turned into the same flavour of DPS it would be homogenisation, but my belief is they are already there so what’s the difference in trying

The only side im on is my own, I don't speak for those against you and they dont speak for me, don't try lumping us all in one basket, it is not my place or responsibility to rail people in you dont like or find vitriolic, that is your issue to deal with.

The only reason you feel I have painted myself into an unfavourable light is because I speak plainly, I have no interest in molly coddling anyone, everyone is acting like children and you are meant to be adults, it's a video game ffs, I have quit video games im not happy with or dislike greatly and relegated them to the back burner, a video game is not my life and half of you are acting like your life is in danger with how you've approached the entire "strike".

The conclusion I drew from my own analysis was proposing a solution that give everyone rez items to create redundancy for healer, which is currently the only role without a redundancy. Redundancy is key because otherwise healer has the greatest risk of being blamed for single point of failure.

The other conclusion drawn from people in the strike thread was that terrible healers should be kicked and that comment was immediately deleted by mods. There has been a lot of snark to similar effect of "skill issue." It doesn't help the strike advocates that the conclusions drawn from this group do not seem to consider SEs legitimate concerns about player retention and appealing to the silent majority.

People who have benefit of raid statics and general lack of exposure to the vagaries of duty finder, and general low tolerance for perceived poor gameplay, are a vocal minority but SE corporate knows better and you can't be surprised that SE has not really catered to you because this is a business and the market has spoken. If you want change its not arguing skill issue, it's understanding what SEs bottom line is and finding a solution that also keeps in mind the silent majority.
