    Not necessarily. I'm partial towards being able to stand toe to toe with bosses and bad guys because it makes my character look like less of a scrub and more of a hero. I still remember after the cap was raised to 99, I joined a 6-man Divine Might group. I don't know about the others, but I greatly enjoyed being able to stand up to the Ark Angels instead of kiting like a pansy or getting one-shot.

    * The sad thing is that FFXIV turned RDM into a turret, and people think that's what it's supposed to be. It's supposed to combine sword and magic into something more, not spend the bulk of gameplay spamming spells and jump into melee for only 3 GCDs before scurrying back to the back line like good little casters.
