I'm going to point out with the woven cloth that the dark seam is much further in on the light cloth to the right, and if a change that drastic had happened to our WoL faces, you'd be raising the rafters over it.

It can be a little confusing because the slider is the same picture. Here is a more visual comparison.

And yes, they have already done that, they have so significantly changed, for example, my lips.



I'm not really asking you if they're similar or not, in your opinion. The other day, I just asked for the most innocent and independent view from the outside. A little boy. To which he replied to me. Auntie, here she is joyful and smiling, and here she is sad and not smiling. And even ignoring the fact that they have a completely different shape.
For me, this is the surest indicator that something is wrong. And I just ignore preconceived opinions like that

The fun part is that we can also be very dissatisfied with the change to the shape of our characters faces and be excited for and appreciate the other changes. It isn't mutually exclusive.

Yeah for sure. I haven't been growing attached to and staring at the couch fabric for 5 years in cut scenes and gpose so I don't notice or care much about how they update it. If plants and stones look good they look good. My own characters face is a different story. Faces didn't get the attention to detail they should have imo.

Just saying, sometimes the background team drops the ball really hard, in both directions.


I would much rather have the better graphical fidelity, but I remember 1.0 and I remember the 5-10fps some places of the game would have, the lack of the hardware mouse cursor, the much nicer looking models... oh wait.

Sometimes you can go "yeah, that looked better" and then turn around and realize how empty the area is because of it. Because that is what a lot of 1.0, copy-paste topology to either save memory or abject laziness. "PS3" limitations also meant a lot of creative reuse.

What I hope is that most of the "ARR" and HW areas get revamped with higher quality textures, and also various places where they dropped the ball like Hein's outfit stops being a thing.

This is because the Environment team members are gurus and the character team is... questionable (they've always been the weakest link of XIV).
