Player's Poll: FFXIV or FFXI-2?

So when we are talking among ourselves and someone says, "People want easier content" or "Fans of the series demand single mob fights!" there is a reference of that opinion. As it sits I'd say we're divided right up the gut between people who want FFXI back with an updated graphics engine and some new ideas and those who want an entirely new MMO which strays from the original's ball to the walls why-would-you-play-this-voluntarily difficulty.

the problem has been the entire time though is 2 fold.

1. with the way the poll was worded it directs people to either choose option 1 or they are completely stupid. thank goodness some people can still think for themselves or your poll would be 120-0 with its wording.

2. the poll did not give an option for a combination of both and i think people on both extremes are in the minority. it's been pointed out repeatedly in this thread that alot of people want some things from xi, but like some things from xiv more. i still think this is the route in which the game should be taken. i can bet you that there's people that voted one way or another just because there's more of what they want in one list than the other, but doesn't agree with everything in either list.

for example i agree with you on the longer time to level, the tougher mobs, and to an extent the more outside of battle utility. i would still vote for the second option if i was forced to choose because i think xiv has more right now than it has wrong at this point. it does still need alot more work to get it to where i'd say it was in a completed state in any part of the game though.
