I can't believe people actually voted for the second one, I found it totally biased putting the first post as better choice, but still some people chose the second...?

there's actually been many people commenting that they voted for neither option. i didn't vote on either myself, but if i had to choose one or the other it would be the second one even though it's not the type of game i want. it's just closer to the game i want than the first option is.

I think people voted for the second because they didn't want the first to succeed and make it look like we want FFXI-2.
I think rushing to endgame because the only good or challenging content is in endgame is not that great for a player who enjoys taking their time and would also like an economy/player base that is leveling.
I think having challenging content, difficult content should evenly grade upwards so that there is something else to do besides grind to endgame as fast as possible so that there is fun stuff to do. The existence of crafts, an auction house should not only persist of level 30 and up gear/items but there is no reason to buy armor under level 40 if you are only going to be there for a short time.
It does not encourage leveling a craft when lower to mid level items are all sold to NPC because no one is there to buy them.
Can't tell you how many people [bless their hearts for being kind] offer to power level me so that I can be level 50 as if it is a bad thing not to be yet, when I am enjoying the nice pace I am going at, the lore, the quests and general things to do that are not yet endgame.
I think endgamers should have moderate to hard to insanely hard content to do, but I also think that levels below should have a reason to stick around and learn their classes, make a living off of a craft[s] and also have moderate to hard to insanely hard content too.
I just think balance is a good word for all of this instead of hard extremes.

Hai! I'm Vahl, in ur mmorpgs, sort'n my inventory and putt'n 2 many H's in my name since FFXI..FFXIV Inventory Tetris Champ

if you want ff11 play ff11 dangit! simple as that, if you want something new play ff14.. and don't encourage everything to come over from 11... its not the devs who make this game what it is you have to understand its you who decides that. if you don't realize that then might as well be a botting lala...
FF11 is not ff11 anymore, how many times do we have to tell you people that.if you want ff11 play ff11 dangit! simple as that, if you want something new play ff14.. and don't encourage everything to come over from 11... its not the devs who make this game what it is you have to understand its you who decides that. if you don't realize that then might as well be a botting lala...

I want FFXIV to be party play, but i do not want it to be like FFXI, something similar is ok, but turning FFXIV to a time-sink game is no fun.
so both polls are biased and stupid.
As much as I personally would love a FFXI-2 with all the flaws taken out and updated graphics I think it'd be hard for SE to target new players; the general audience nowadays needs a model like FFXIV which's now the norm, the game is more accessible to all types of gamers when all you need to worry about is finishing the new content and getting your drops.
In essence the only thing I can hope for in 2.0 is that battles are more FFXI styled, all they need to do is make it so that you can solo things without dying and gain exp but having a full party take down something alot higher leveld will give more exp\better drops, couple that with the movement and positioning system we presently have and I'd be content.
Also as a passing mention, while I would actually like FFXI-2 and agree with most points in that first post, your poll is undeniably biased which I'm afraid rather invalidates the results; not to mention it's too late for this game to make such a drastic overhaul. I'd suggest remaking the thread with individual ponts comparing FFXIV and FFXI's way of doing things, at least that'd have a chance of being considered and we can get some real numbers.

I think this post is presented in a bias manner. I hope it's not considered.

I like how it's a decently even split with slight favor to FFXI-2.
Because I like that.
