Player's Poll: FFXIV or FFXI-2?

First, I don´t know if this thread is a joke or not (damn my limitated english skills ) but if it is serious then...

Please, just stop this, is just stupid atleast in my opinion. Why we have to bring the damn stupid concept of FFXI-2, had we lose our minds ? The reason why the Final Fantasy saga have existed for all this time is because of innovation, changing and making each game with care and attention. Don´t get me wrong, they have always pick things for the previous game, of course if something was good, take it and if possible, remake it or improved it.

I understand that the comparision and the suggestion about taking things of FFXI but, for the love of god, let FFXIV grown and become the great game it can be someday, please, I understand all of you loved FFXI as the way it was, but FFXIV isn´t and should never be FFXI-2. I mean, even FFX-2 and FFXIII-2 changes their battle mechanics and gameplay greatly, and now we are asking SE to go against all they did, all that make this saga and each of its game unique and rememberable ?.

I won´t denied, at launch this game sucks, right now its a mediocre FF game and MMORPG, but it is changing and there is still a long way ahead, there is potential, why kill it so soon ?.

What I mean is, is good to take some ideas from FFXI and even of all the olds FF, but FFXI-2 is just stupid and unfair, or atleast in my opinion.

I refuse to vote, FFXIV have endless possibilities and just 2 options dosn´t cover it at all. And besides, is just too obvius the description of each game is made on porpuse to make FFXIV looks totally bad. Even if it is right or not, you should let two neutral options.

The economy is busted, people are depressed just watched a video of a man beating a pregnant woman for 50 dollars! You think someone wants to login to a game where they get beaten by foolish concepts for 9 a month while the real world does that to them daily and worse? Think again buster.

It should also be noted that the poll is biased and an incredibly stupid idea because it's comparing the final finished form of FFXI in its prime to the still incomplete, in the middle of being rebuilt FFXIV. Try waiting for FFXIV's prime (well past 2.0) and then start comparing them.

Things aren't going to stay exactly as they are, however some things are in a mostly finished state so you're all going to just have to deal with it or find another game. It's funny how obnoxiously entitled a lot of people seem to be on here just because they asked for our opinion a few times and occasionally listen when something is quite broken (dye stats, PLD, claiming system). Despite that though the dev team tends to do what they want. Yoshida has a vision for the game and he's not going to let us destroy that lol.

Also yeah, you can't tell people to go back to FFXI because as we all know FFXI is long dead and stopped service a long time ago. Kind of like how they never made Episodes 1-3 of Star Wars or how the only iterations of Devil May Cry are 1, 3 and 4 or how there was no direct sequel to FFX.

Actually your poll is incredibly flawed because a vast majority of players don't even come to the forum and let's not forget the large number that didn't vote because your poll is obnoxious and biased. All you've shown is that FFXI purists like voting in biased polls that treat FFXI as god's gift to MMOs.

no it just shows that people on the net are just as easily lead as they are by watching news programs. this poll is just as accurate as watching cnn or fox and then asking about the opposing party. you are leading people with slanted views and then asking them what they think afterwards. this poll is just as accurate as if i went through uldah and asked everyone that botted if they think it's ok or not. i wonder what those poll results would be?

Within the first 10 words of this thread I stated this was of the forum goes only. As for stupid and bias, those are like your opinions man. I also already stated that I don't even have the fleeting notion that this thread will change the game in any way shape or form. I did not create it to change Yoshi's mind. I made it because I wanted to see how many people want Hardcore Vs. Casual renditions of FFXIV's future.

I never compared it to FFXI's finished content, more or less the general way they went around it. More difficult mobs is hardly Post-Zilart concepts.

Alright time for a honest calculation (Of those who visit the forums at least) of how players feel about what this game is shaping into. I am tired of hearing the excuse that this generation of MMO's *has* to casualize to work. I'm curious to see how many of their paying players right now agree.

Like this post if you wish for

~A return to longer EXP requirements. (3+ months per Job at the low end)
~More difficult enemies (Party focuses on a single target instead of 4)
~EXP penalty for Death
~Level capped instances (If you want to do content at a lower level you can't blam through it with a 50)
~Return to the basic job/subjob system and Iconic names
~More Job utility outside of combat (Whm teles, Blm Warp II, Thf treasure Hunter, ect)
~Auction Houses and centralized markets which can be access from a primary city (We don't quite have a Jueno but we will soon I imagine)


More importantly. These highlight examples aside. Do you want the Devs to create a game that will truly challenge the player base? That forces close bonds with friends and makes every day you play memorable? To stop creating in shortcuts for those unwilling to put in the effort?

Oh I'm not upset by any means, however I can't get behind a thread with an agenda that's to provide ammunition against others of the community, that's not very constructive at all.
