Part of what gets me is that nobody in this thread actually sat down and came up with a plan of action, or some universally agreed-upon copypaste strategy to actually make this work like a grass-roots thing.
Part of what makes a strike effective is getting people who would be affected by the strike to be on your side. Did anyone think about this? Does anyone actually understand the socio-political dynamics of the very thing they're trying to do??
If I were honest, I think this strike is pretty successful and the fact you are responding tells me it is in your mind which is the whole point. The fact this strike lives rent free in your brain tells me you at least thought of it.
I want to genuinely know your motivation behind trying to shut down the strike- why do you think it is stupid?
Healers have been getting the short end of the stick for a long time now. I don't think it is too out of the ordinary for them to feel unheard and jaded by their role's and respective jobs' neglect. Wouldn't you also feel upset if tanks suddenly had twice the number of mits and only 3 dps buttons (1 AOE, 1 DoT, and attack)? Or if Summoner's summons were reduced to only 2 summons and you were forced to use them over and over and over again. Because that is what healers have right now.
I see a lot of disdain from naysayers. I am confused why you come here. The one thing I ask of you is to fully spell out your motivations and why you think healers shouldn't start a strike despite their treatment. Do you think the current state of the role is truly acceptable? How do you see healers as a role?
We simply want to feel useful and matter. We want our contributions to mean something.

I know this is a game but people care deeply. When people care they will put in effort to try making things better or at least show support for making things better.
Look at other online games that are long gone and yet still have a thriving community. They did all of that because they care about the game. People here are doing the best they can to finally get heard.
Nobody even mentioned demographics, how to best quantify and reach out to them. Or time zones, or region and language breakdowns of any kind.

The whole thing is so impractical. Laughably so.
That's because timezones don't mean that much when people move around the world all the time and especially because this is an online game from around the world so the demograohics are bound to be diverse. Do you know what kinds of players main healers? What do you know about the demographics of healers?

And the part that bothers me the most is that MMOs are the types of things where grassroots movements like this are possible, it's in their very nature as community-driven games.
But the way you all went about handling this isn't going to achieve anything, aside from maybe annoy casual and hardcore players just looking to get stuff done, and maybe even get a few people banned who were naive enough to buy into this.

You're all better off starting a petition, or waiting for Japanese hardcore players to notice and see how they feel about it.
What would have been a better way to go about this, pray tell? Just sit there and continue to stew in the forums like before? That didn't get us anywhere.
Petitions rarely work from what I've seen. And for it to be properly communicated to the JP players we first need to have something typed up in Japanese. I cannot say if there are plans for this or not, however. I can guarantee you that this strike is already spreading and its scope is increasing.
I'm going to assume because you typed 2 paragraphs you care about this more than you'd like to let on.
