I got powerleveled to hell on my THM and my MRD. Not that it matters, since I leveled them ages ago back when THM in parties was Sacrifice spam and MRD had aoe melee attacks, and I had to relearn how to play each class anyway. But that part clearly doesn't matter because me being powerleveled somehow taints me? Personally, I'd rather have a powerleveled WAR on Ifrit who knows how to play the job effectively than someone who ground it to 50 on raptors and beastmen who thinks tanking Ifrit is anything like killing trash mobs.

Not like grinding prepares you for endgame anyway. The dynamics are totally different and applying the former to the latter can actually be more dangerous than simply not knowing the latter.

You had two whms in grind parties? That's a first, most groups shout for two hours to find a single healer.
Hehe they were lucky~ Also meant we could spam stonera and aerora because aoe stoneskin+regen was doing our job for us.

I once had a party with a total of 4 (yes, really) WHMs in it. I have no idea why we kept recruiting them given that we clearly needed DDs, but hey, at least when people died, there was always a Raise handy.

I just think we are just ruining this game. I'm sure most/ all were helped out or power leveled in some form or the other. We've all taken advantages of glitches in this game, but had to relearn our jobs. I just think it would be more fitting if the veteran's give advice to the newer generation of players.
Everyone can't have it easy. Just look at what ffxi is today. I hear it is a joke now. Let's not make this awesome game the joke the 11 is today.
Even though XI was a forced party environment ppl always looked for ways to exploit XP way before Aby and the community forced job specific "Bird camps". There are always ppl that want the easy button. In XI you had ppl get to 75 even through straight XP Pts yet they still didn't understand or learn the core of their job. It's going to happen, its just a sad fact.

Regardless of being PLed or not it comes down to the user learning their class/job. The thing I do agree with is shouting for PLs or paying for PLs imo is stupid. The community generally 1-30 wants to solo leve grind and there are fewer shouts for XP pts in these lvls and the community ignored SE's point of making shposhae and Toto.

The other issue I see and Ifrit is a perfect example. If you want Ifrit wins, go with your LS or shout for Experienced Players Only if you don't want to deal with new Ifrit players. I see too many ppl just shout normally for easy button Ifrits, THM x5 goto him and wipe due too an inexperienced Ifrit player and leave, then complain about it when they didnt even try to teach that person strats for a few runs. Even with 1 inexperienced DD you can easily take him down. I helped a new Archer with this the other day and after a few runs he had it down and we still got wins regardless of his learning phase.

I am not calling power leveled people morons, but I'm sick and tired of lazy gamers wanting/getting a quick fix so they think they can do moogle / Ifrit or current end game dungeons or material. I take this game very seriously and when I join primal fight parties, that say they are veterans, when they don't know their cudgel from their quiver and I just end up wasting time that I could have been doing something else, besides teaching 50's how to play.
If you can't see where I'm coming from GTFO. I'm just angry, which is the general mood for my posts. I think a lot can be learned from doing leves, getting in and forming parties, seeking guidance, and grinding things out.
I sit in Uldah, not only to black list idiots, but to spot that shout for people searching for something. If it is spam ls shout, I direct them to the Balmung ls list. If it is people seeking a party spam, I encourage them to do leves until more get online their level, make their own, or some easy solo locations.
Saying that people are morons from getting power leveled 1-50 or that good players grind 1-50 was not my point of this thread. I'm just sick and tired of lazy people getting PLed only to be taught in end game situations by veterans who have to babysit, and perform above par because of a 8 man party that actually feels like a 5 man suicide.

I agree with most of what you are saying Xakery. With Ifrit its a hard call, even an experienced player that knows their job has to learn from the current issues with Ifrit, especially the latency. Even someone like myself with more than 60 Wins will still take dmg from eruptions even though my timing is perfect. Ifrit has latency issues, period. I haven't experienced this with Mog though.

... PL or no PL you have to learn Ifrit. At some point we are all babysat unless you invented the strat yourself. "Give a man a fish feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish feed him 1000 years." you're teaching people how to fish anyway since fishing in this context is Ifrit apparently.

If PL vs no PL wasn't the point of your thread then the title is very misleading.

EDIT; Also was going to let this go but seriously you tell people to "GTFO" if they don't have your mindset (that's not how forums work I'm afraid) yet you "sit in Uldah, not only to black list idiots, but to spot that shout for people searching for something. If it is spam ls shout, I direct them to the Balmung ls list." There's irony here somewhere.

Also... "Give a man a fish feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish feed him 1000 years." stop force feeding skeletons fish.

the gtfo was a joke and i send people tells directing them to sites unless it is PL spam shouts for seeking or recruitment. In the later cases I shout a few then just blacklist all who argue. It makes my world a lot more quiet.
What do you mean by skeletons fish?

Is OP trolling? Because even without a PL you can lvl a job to 50 in a couple days.
