yeah like, the big issue with apartments is that they're smaller than real-life studio apartments and the game keeps giving you outdoor housing furnishings as rewards (say, for FATEs - the very long Azim Steppe chain gives you one) which you can only desynth or sell. I think what bugs people on the base level is being reminded of a feature they can't use because it's out of their control. I'd love to have a house. I would've decorated my island sanctuary even harder if they gave me a higher item limit. But with the current scarcity I'd have to grind gil and then basically pray to RNG.
These players are not breft of housing. It's one thing if housing isn't available at all.It's another thing to have housing, but not want it because you( not you) don't want to settle until a plot (of their choosing) becomes available.

Apt users think Apts aren't enough compared to smalls

Small plot users think smalls aren't enough compared to a medium.

Medium plot users think mediums aren't enough compared to a large

A large plot user would think a mansion isn't enough if their was another size bigger plot.
