Housing Plot Instanced

Imagine being an owner of a large and having 50 people constantly teleporting to their large that is in the same spot as yours. Like those bot swarms teleporting in cities, but in front of your own house that is supposed to be a sanctuary.

On release it was kinda annoying until most pretty much seemed to stop using it...to date I have been to 30+ islands....only mine was actually decorated. The only reason there is demand for housing is more likely due to its scarcity I feel. I watch the same empty plot on Coeurl week after week...but its only a small FC plot...so people ignore it.

Personally I think that rather then making a plot "exclusive" instead make it priority - if FC's are not moving into FC wards; then I see no issue with opening those to personals.

It could always be set up so one plot is always the plot on display, with the instanced houses at the same location reached through a placard menu. There are a few ways to design such a system so it would work to satisfy the vast majority of players (will always be those few who find reason to complain).

This way the housing divisions will still feel like a community and everyone can get a house wherever they choose to build one.

All the plots in my ward may be filled with houses decorated but it still feels like a ghost town without other players walking around.

Your idea has the potential to make wards feel more like communities by adding more owners to the ward (even if their plots are instanced) but it will be dependent on how many players will spend time in a specific ward to talk to others. The game has too many wards to make that likely to happen.

While I agree with the sentiment; the reason houses are a ghost town is more due to the convenience of the capital cities. That said it is nice to bump into your neighbors or to see a FC in your area gathered out front doing something (even hanging out)

Personally if folks want instanced housing I would make it simple and accessed similar to a apartment; just a door you walk in the capital cities to enter your "home"; the problem is I am already seeing the scope creep happen as now folks want yards and such; after which they will want special ward instances so that their FC can create a neighborhood...which will sound eerily familiar to some...

I want instanced, but this is not how I would want it to work. I want to be able to see my own house at all times. lol I think a directory within the existing zones somewhere would be better.

Out all the instanced housing systems I have seen in mmos. Rift I feel as the best cause it basically gives a Island with a house or without house. Either way though in that game you can build structures on your island so lack of a house is not problem. As for visiting you can block unwanted visitors from coming to your instance.

So when you want to visit someone's plot, you can't because that idea would prevent that (although it would create way more houses for everyone)

A basic search function or save feature to find a persons house that you’re looking for would teleport their house to your location on the map. Maybe it could teleport you to their location.

I don't want my house to be hidden from view. That's what apartments are for.

Your house will be seen randomly my someone somewhere. Maybe we could even have house contests where the there is a theme design and the winner gets unique items for their house. Along with their house being teleported to the hill of glorious house of the month for all to see for one month.

Here's an idea. Your instanced house will be accessed from somewhere else other than the placards of existing houses and wards remain as they are. This separate place could even display a random instanced house.

OPs idea is very kind, but not very practical. There is wayyy too many small plots. Let's not pretend that while yes, many people are happy with their small plots, there is also quite few small plot owners who would prefer medium, or large, and supply is keeping them from owning the preferred plot.

To some people the yard and the garden is big thing. And I personally enjoy taking walk around random ward to see peoples houses (if they're open). Neatly put garden and yard is eyecatcher.

I think I'd just take apartment update instead.

I’d say the small, medium and large could have restrictions too. Owners of large FCs can only have large homes because that’s what it was originally designed for. Everyone who can afford a small home will have a small home. Medium for medium FCs.

With this idea nothing changes except for the plot itself. You’d still be able to walk around the wards. The plots would only refresh (on demand or when moving around wards). Then when wanting walk in their plot (inside the fence) you would be teleported to their instance or if the devs can figure it out, naturally walk around that plot as is.

No thank you, there are other games with instanced housing, ffxiv is ward housing.

I don’t think you read what I wrote. Perhaps I need to be more clear. The wards would still exist, but the plots in them would be instanced. You would still see the homes and their yards.
