Some ppl need to see things to understand em... the EW trials had so many cheap kills that would just wipe the party - look at golbez with his knockback, meteor, tower stuff... zeromus blackhole... or back then how you could wipe emerald ex within like 15 seconds due orbs lol

    Also i want some solid walls, no death pits, insta death spikes or anything... just for once a nice, save, solid wall...

    This is great to hear. Hopefully he's referring to content difficulty and job design. I'll believe it when I see it though.

    The dead ends was more of a ton of instant fail-states that were from one-shot mechanics or basically put you in a state of a one-shot. As long as you failed the mechanic (because the mechanics have multi-steps and can happen in quick succession), you were going to die or have a very high possibility of dying if you didn't know where to go. I think it's not incredibly fun for many players as the only response for recovery was just simply 'raise'. You can't really interact to the mechanics in any meaningful way, heals or no heals. So the agency didn't fall to the players other than knowing where to find the safe spot. Healers couldn't really do anything to vuln stack accumulation one shotting people and Esuna is more like a on-off switch that you either used or don't. Our toolkits were basically not made to handle those fights outside of just dps. It took a lot more pages from high-end fights in the sense where you either do the mechanic correctly or wipe. However, if you knew the mechanics, the dungeon itself was otherwise not challenging in the slightest because you just avoided most of the heavy damage from the getgo by knowing where to position yourself. Personally, I don't like it for that reason too. I like to have a fairly interactable yet not too mechanically difficult fight if I'm doing casual content, but I don't want a braindead fight where I just glare all day and run into pass-fail checks nonstop as a "mechanic".

    I hope this doesn't mean they've decided to implement Pathfinder to unlock flying.

    In other words, his comment is so vague we've got no way of knowing what he was thinking about when it said it. Any number of things could fall under the heading of "less stress-free".

    Maybe they're going to double down on how annoying it is to try to purchase the game and expansions from the Square Enix store.

    Maybe FATE timers are going to be reduced from 15 minutes to 8 minutes like a few of the ARR FATEs.

    Maybe they're finally going to start killing off Scions in the MSQ instead of equipping them with plot armor so thick nothing can touch them so some players lose some of their besties/waifus.

    I would highly recommend not reading anything into it because we don't have enough information to know what he's referring to.

    I also wouldn't expect such changes to start happening until 7.1 at the very earliest.

    He gave an example of what he meant by stress so we do know generally what he's talking about.

    What's the harm in having hope for the future of the game?

    I do love this comment here about the stress free stuff.
    However when Stone Vigil is more "stress" than any of the Endwalker Dungeons, maybe some more stress is required. Like going back more towards to original Stormblood Allyraid difficulty.
