While Cure/Cure II and Benefic/Benefic II have no good reason to be separate buttons, I think Physick does have its niche uses in certain cases where Adlo isn't strictly the better options. I remember Physick saving us a wipe quite a few times when progging ultimate fights and such. I think Physick has its place, although alternatively, it could be rolled into Esuna and brought back as Leeches.
Well no, not necessarily, if you try doing Ramuh MINE by only using Cure 2 you'll run out of MP way too fast. It's also a slower cast time than Cure 1.
I think he means that Physick is basically useless at higher levels since you have a myriad of tools to handle the job of "make HP bar go up" more effectively and efficiently.
The problem is when you're at a level where you don't have those tools yet.
In reality you'd do neither though? Regen is the way forward for the most part especially in the modern day with its comparatively reduced MP costs.
It's a shame I don't have any old recordings from Ramuh back in the day but man, the value Regen brought to the table in an attritional fight like Ramuh was off the charts even as a patch heal.

Damn, you didn’t need to do Lustrate dirty like that.
I more mean outside of incredibly niche cases if you are doing that dumb “use physick because the shield didn’t get fully absorbed” then you didn’t need to cast a heal in that GCD
Physick is 400 potency, adlo is 300 pure potency and a shield, if you cast adlo on a partially cracked shield it will refill the shield, so basically as long as the shield has lost 100 potency then adlo is always better, and if your previous shield is cracking that slowly you don’t know if you have lost 100 potency off the shield then you really don’t need to be casting a second GCD heal
Either the enemies are hurting you hard enough the shield is getting absorbed fast enough that adlo is always better, otherwise every second GCD you could put towards damage
There's actually a good reason to have these buttons separated, for white mage the cast speed of cure1 is faster. Sometimes you need a faster heal as opposed to a strong one. We can easily say "skill issue" but that isn't a solution nor does it change the reality of the point that I made.
So reduce the cast time by 0.5 seconds...There's actually a good reason to have these buttons separated, for white mage the cast speed of cure1 is faster.
