I dunno about doom and all that but after base Endwalker all the patches had almost no content for non hardcore players and that's simple facts. I found myself paying a monthly sub on patch releases and ending up playing two days to a week every time. Saying things like just play something else or take a break when people want to play this game or saying just grind every old relic so you would force yourself to have content to do, is as ridiculous as it gets imo. I came with the WoW exodus and in a year and a half or so, I pretty much did everything in the game excluding savages, ultimates and grinding every piece of pre-Endwalker relic. If I'm gonna pay a monthly sub in a game I already paid money for, which also has a shop in it, then it better have enough new content for the duration of that god damn sub. They could have easily (and lazily if we're being honest) fixed this with a Mythic+ system and a relic zone but instead we got the disappointments that were Criterion and Manderville.

Island Sanctuary, variant dungeons, Eureka Orthos, MSQ normal dungeons/trials, alliance raids, tribal quests... there was plenty of 'non-hardcore' content. Especially considering the hardcore content was basically Savage and Ultimate.

Also, have you done literally every single thing there is to do in the game up to Endwalker? Everything? Every single quest, achievement, etc.? Because you can still do old content in Endwalker. You're not locked out. I seriously doubt there's absolutely nothing for you to do currently in-game. If you find there's nothing you want to do, yes, go play something else. That's normal behaviour. If you're so attached to the game that you're mad because you can't find anything to enjoy anymore, that's not SE's problem. It's you.

this is kind of a bad take mate.
the content of this xpac is pretty doable within a week of it launching, your ideal of content is do ever side quest and get every achievement? sure guys if you dont kill all the s ranks 5000 times you still have content to do.. repetition is not content.. if you play the game when content comes out you already completed old content, so saying go do old stuff is redundant right?
December 7, 2021, thats when endwalker launched. its 2024.

If repetition isn't content, then isn't ALL content in the game just one-and-done? Aren't all relic grinds of the past that have been praised as 'good content' just repition of stuff youve already done 20 times over? What's the difference between repitition for achievement kind and repitition for stuff like relics or grinds in exploratory zones?

meaningful reward, why would i grind a beast tribe past max rank if i have all the rewards?
is a achievement really a meaningful reward for 99% of the player base?
clearing a raid for bis gear? thats a reason to keep trying, to bad we get 4 raid bosses per 12 month cycle

There are achievements that give the same kinds of rewards as beasts tribes do, such as mounts, minions and titles.

so grinding 5000 hunt mobs is meaningful content but grinding 500 kills for a relic weapon isnt?
yeah sure there are rewards for grindy achievements, but are you saying that its healthy to have long form grindy content for the health of a MMORPG? or are you in agreeance with OP that every quest should be completed with no needed investment?
im saying we like having things to work towards, seeing zero eat a bean bun is not repeatable content of any meaningful merit.

I stopped reading right here for a moment because the "simple facts" are the complete opposite. I am most definitely a non-hardcore player. I still have content from the various patches that I've barely touched or haven't done at all (but am still looking forward to doing). The closest thing to a "fact" might be the dev team this time around didn't create content you desire, or that the content in and of itself isn't as "long-lasting" as something like an exploratory zone, but the "simple fact" is that there is a lot of content for non-hardcore players.

Oh, for the record, I've been playing on-and-off since 2015 and playing this game as my main MMO since 2021, and I haven't come close to touching all of the content I want to do (let alone everything that exists, as there are a variety of things I just don't personally have interest in).

And have you considered that perhaps they intentionally did NOT put in an M+ system because that's not the kind of game FFXIV wants to be, or the crowd it wants to attract? And again - you might be disappointed with things like Manderville. Other people (such as myself) love that kind of content and very much enjoy the Manderville storylines.
