Female Hrothgar as a playable race. Show your support!

You know I do wonder, male Hrothgar's racial gear is pretty plain, like it serves the point of them being like soldiers/more battle-focused, depicting more of a gladiator-esc aesthetic. And from what we have from their lore, female Hrothgar once born get immediately put on the path that would prepare them for the role of queens and matriarchs. That made me think about the gear, wouldn't it make more sense if their gear reflected that? In the sense of being more decorated? Like a more royal garment? Incorporating more expensive fabrics, dyes and jewellery. And while I don't expect a crown or tiara to be part of it since no racial gear has any hats, it would be interesting if some of the racial hairstyles would contain such decorations.

Trying to remember but I don't think they are all prepared to be queens since in the Bozjan story line we can see female Hrothgars as handmaidens to the queen in the mural. Now would they more then likely be groomed for positions of political power like advisers and such, quite possibly.

At the same time it also depends on the lore we are given for the Female Hrothgar that the Player can choose comes from since I think most if not all Bozjan female Hrothgar are gone and we might instead get a New World Tural versions who give up on positions of power in a Hrothgar society and instead choose a life of adventure. In that case they might not have the elaborate clothing and accessories opting for something more practical both from a adventuring sake as well as a personal protection by lowering the chance of being a target for robbery. As for hairstyles with adornments it's quite possible since Viera, both female and male, do have that one Fran hairstyle with a half helmet. Depending on what they do it could be interesting idea and play on the whole groomed for higher social standing but the million dollar question is would SE choose to make a hairstyle like that one of the four base choices for Hrothgals?

Just have to wait 7 weeks to find out what they have in store for Hrothgals. Not sure if anyone else feels like the time between EU and JP is moving slower than normal.

Maybe it has something to do with the fact we have to wait until next year for that. /jk

And I never thought about that. Since we know all if not a majority of female Hrothgar died during the Bozjan incident. We are more than likely going to only have Turalian Female Hrothgar to choose from.

And since we know from the fan fest panels that Hrothgar are one of the prevelent species of Tural alongside the Mamool Ja, could it be that the birth problem might be solved? Like the same species could evolve diferentley depending on the geography. Maybe the harsher environment of the new world coupled with the numerous tribes and predators forced the Hrothgar to evolve in such a way that females birth rate would increase for a better chanse at survival. This would be in contrast with Bozja, which we know Hrothgar were the main race even with their smaller number of females, so the accelerated female rate would not be needed for a lack of predators.

Well I don't think it's so much a harsher environment as it is the amount of living space and resources that are available to them. looking at the map given to us it looks like Tural is just a tad bit smaller than Aldenard compare that to Bozja which if I had to guess is close to the same size as Thavnair maybe two times the size if you are generous on how far north than it goes. So I imagine Tural Hrothgal NPCs are around the same ballpark in numbers or slightly lower than Male Miqo'te NPCs in Aldenard. Now again I'm not absolutely sure about this and it could be a mixture of environmental evolution and available resources or I could be completely wrong and it is all from an evolution standpoint, won't know till either JP at the earliest or when we get DT in our hands at the latest since I have a feeling that the Encyclopedia 3 won't have the info we need there and we'll have to wait till 4.

Might be part of the reason besides lack of resources and manpower why we didn't get Hrothgals in Endwalker. Maybe the story team was like "How do we explain this situation that we wrote ourselves into away?" and because at the time they couldn't figure it out they went with bun boys instead since all they had to do lore wise with them was go "Well... They ran away from their jobs... yeah that will work." since you know no mass Garlean woopies...

As for Bozja yeah I would say that it doesn't look good for that being the direction they end up taking for the player characters, but maybe not for Bozja as a whole. Who knows we might get a post MSQ side-quest that has us taking Turalian Hrothgals to meet the Bozja boys to help restructure and repopulate especially since now Garlamald as a nation isn't doing Garlean things, just the outliers like Gabranth who left the empire and might be holding onto power somewhere in Ilsabard. I mean who wouldn't want to be a queen in a new location with little to no competition. Joking aside this might be an interesting idea for the Story team to look into...

Regardless, bozjan handmaidens would still likely wear clothing worthy of the empresses handmaidens.
so not far off. (I still imagine them to be more regal and decorated than that one art that was shared along with a viera Male art way back when. The one that the artist made to look Amano-ish as another user mentioned)

Though one has to imagine, is the racial gear meant to be overall for general adventuring gear for some Hrothgar, or more Racial to specific subset/subculture of Hrothgar(be the West/NewWorld or East/Bozjan.)

[Maybe I'm just hoping to much for custom hempen sets for Rothgals, since I dislike the reusing of assets of other races gear.]

What's with the anger? We coulda said the same thing about Mithra, yanno. Instead, we got male Mi'qote and lots of players are very happy.

I hope they stop trying this. It seems like every couple years, that one guy at SE convinces the team to try gender-locking races again. And every. single. time. the players express exactly how irritating it is. I still have ptsd from all the male mithra requests over the years. I'm glad they finally gave us male mithra and female galka here. Couldn't believe they were trying the gender lock thing *again* when the bunnies and hroths dropped.

If they insist on a mono-gendered race, great, but don't make it so traditionally masculine or traditionally feminine. Figure out something brand-new, not something that's going to leave fully half the population out in a very obvious way.

The legs do look kind of similar with the fur patches on the thigh seeming to be in the same place. I would be 100% on board with this, it looks very good and love the head! Probably we wouldn't get the fur-covered neck, but otherwise a very solid design! And seeing that this drawing is quite old, the devs would have more than likely seen it if they did look at fan art for inspiration as they did to male Viera.
