Female Hrothgar as a playable race. Show your support!

I think that that the general shape for both males and female Viera ears are the same with just some minor tweaks such as the angle they face or shape of the ear tufts. So I imagin that the base fur pattern ideas are used with modifications to allow them to look better on the smaller (more talking about width than height) fame of the hrothgals. In addition, I don't think that Legs can be used as an example of the Fur Patterns being different since where the patterns would show up are covered by pants since it starts above the ankle and ends below the knee and the only part we can see is a texture pattern on the outer thigh which isn't part of the pattern (If we use males as a reference). Of course I'll add the stipulation that I could be wrong and Hrothgal patterns do go higher up the leg to include the thigh but If I were to put money on anything I would put it on the earlier modification of the male patterns.

5 more weeks until the JP fan fest and hopefully the long-awaited Female Hrothgar reveal!
With this and the new lore book coming out, I decided to brush up on my WoL's backstory. To the time when she was just a handmaiden in training, before the Bozjan Incident. To a time when she was daydreaming about what a life as an adventurer would be like? ...right before being not so gently brought back to reality by her master and reminded that her duty must take priority over fantasy.



Does anyone else have a backstory for their female Hrothgar?

Even if we are restricted to lore, it's surprisingly large how much space we have to make with Rothgal origins..,

BTW 100/0 Female Hrothgar Art right there.

I honestly do not have much for mine.(though I could imagine multiple scenarios similar to yours.)
And let's be honest, it's practically one of the only origin lore pieces from Any of the Races where you can have a Character with connections/family to royalty or service to royalty in XIV Player Character Background.

though personally haven't thought that far ahead yet.

I could imagine how their personality may grown and develop over their journey, or ending personality overtime.(based on the Flavor of the Path they are on)

But so far, have not thought to deeply on the exact background.
(Unless I typed it out somewhere and need to look for it)

While it is not necessarily something people would look into, especially at this stage. It does give flavour and a sense of attachment towards the character. And personally, my favourite way to engage with a good MMO or at least one that I enjoy. I do like to stick as much as possible to the lore when creating backstories, but if there is any wiggle room, I like to go for it.
In Pip's case, I wanted to keep the original name, since I am attached to it for my Wol, as well as all my in-game friends know me by it, so it would be weird to go by anything else. So I conducted the plan that this name was given to my WoL as a nickname by her master as a form of them becoming closer.
As for her story, is simply based on things that I have observed to be possible in the game and take on the good with the bad. The picture I drew represents Pip before the Bozjan Incident which was 10-ish years ago, but she looks just as young today. That is because, when the incident happened, due to the motherly love Pip's master had for her, she invoked the forbidden spell "Flow" (the same spell Y'Shtola used at the end of ARR), this sent Pip into the lifestream, protecting her from the massacre that was to come, but trapping her as a consequence, her master's whereabouts are unknown, but she is believed to be dead. Pip would end up floating in the lifestream, slowly having her memory erased, until years later when she will get swept up into Louisoix spell, which would place her at the borders of Gridania, having almost all of her memory erased with only a few fragments from her past. Those being the strong desire to become a free-spirited adventurer and a need to protect the people around her.

The only thing that makes me a little sad is the busy work days... *sigh* Hope I can complete all that stuff before the fanfest, so I can enjoy the show with everyone.
Still not sure if I want to make an alt, or put it directly into my main character, since she has her own story too... but it would be without the political implications. Living around the queen in the Hrothgar community seems quite romantic to me, and the role of a regular protector would suit her. She is a blacksmith and gunbreaker, and I like to imagine the girl at work, engrossed in her ideas. Probably will change profile after emigrating to Sharlayan, since weapons are not what most archons are interested in... A good reason to go not only Zadnor, but also Eureka! After all, working with gunblades implies a good understanding of how the aether works!

I love it so much! Would she be a Lost in that case, or a Helion that refused the throne? Regardless a blacksmith's story that has to adapt to the non-interventionist life of Sharlyan. Sounds really cool!

And this is a question! Current moment, I'm at the idea that my character shouldn't be a queen, except in unintended case. So, there was a queen or her heir, but they are gone, otherwise she would not had a reason to leave the homeland. Which makes her a Lost?.. but I'll wait until the benchmark releases, to really get the new lore and visuals. In my head she looks like a black coeurl, at least.

Absolutely, even I keep a majority of the backstory as an "if" mostly due to lore (I would like to abide by it as much as possible), I think I might give it some final touches after I will get the Encyclopedia in a few days. And I can just imagine a cool coeurl-like female Hrothgar. And maybe it's because of the recency of it, but I imagine it in the new crafter glam they showed at the EU fan fest (looks really cool). But yeah I cannot wait for the reveal and benchmark! But I think it would be better after the benchmark if we completely moved to the "Show your Hrothgar" thread.
As for closing the thread, I don't think so, the male Viera one was basically 1500 or more pages. So the mods closed it due to being too long. I believe they did the same to the first "Show your Miquo'te" and "Tails from Duty Finder", but I could be wrong.
This thread has a very good chance of not getting closed for a long while, but after we will get our ladies, I don't see a reason to continue in here, cause it would have already been a "mission-accomplished" case.
I am so excited for JP, just 4 more weeks to go! Woooooo!
