Young players are not going to play FF14

Maybe I was different from the modern day teenage Fortnite crowd but at that age I was deep into story based games that were able to keep my interest and get their point across without the kind of preaching both XIV and XVI engage in and most if not all were entirely void of the goofy elements allegedly supposed to appeal to those sort of gamers.

For all the attempts to appeal to fans of the FF series you would never have gotten me as a hardcore FF fan to play this game with stuff like the Fall Guys collab front and center, it is an active turn off when my interests have consistently been aligned with an entirely different tone and setting.

The people into that other stuff aren't likely to start playing FF because of these collabs. They are, as I was, largely content to remain within the spaces dedicated to the source material.

Let's see do you take a minor to a adult party where there maybe drinking, smoking and swearing? RP can have adult themes that doesn't always mean ERP. I don't understand what you don't understand about that? Rinse your mind out, personally I wouldn't want to be responsible for having to explain a RP scene that maybe rated R to a minor so it's easier to say 18+ allowed.

I didn't specifically say ERP. I said "adult things" which includes the entire category you described. FFXIV is the only place I seen in awhile that tries really hard to convert the game into an adult only community and it seems to be mostly 'roleplayers' causing it. Which is ironic when most people began RPing at a young age.

Sorry Bonki but after seeing several posts where the hyperbole around venues being x rated it gets kind of tiring. People trying to make out this is the only game out there that has this too makes me a little frustrated. If you understood about adult things then why did you ask? Not sure what you think roleplayers are doing causing what?

the grind is too crazy and rewards aren't good enough and its a paid subscription it wont hold anyone after a certain period. yoshi p and his ragtag crew will sink with the ship. 10 years is plenty of time to course correct but they wont. there was a meme of second life videos where the server owners sound like 50 year old chain smokers that's the demographic not young people.

This exactly. Also adults not wanting to be around children in their free time is not unique, whether there is RP or not.

It's tiring because it's true. This game has an 18+ problem. Even game journalist websites produce articles about it. The game has a known reputation for it.

Apples to oranges. Every game is different, every community is different, situations have different circumstances, demographics, audiences, and marketing strategies. I never played ESO so I won't make any statements about other games I know nothing about.

Well fair enough, but this game isn't the only one out there. But please do answer my question why is this a problem having 18+ RP FCs ?

Maybe the difference is some people busy themselves thinking this is a problem needing to be solved, rather than just leaving adults alone. Haven't once ran into adult behavior in XIV - meaning you likely have to look for it specifically.
