So not to rain on anyone's parade, but the song that is played is called Answers Reprise and it plays every year at the rising event, it isn't new. It's a good touch and definitely gives a certain ambiance to the event.

It also played I think in just about every zone at the end of 1.0 before they had Bahamut nuke it. It's hauntingly beautiful taking that into account, and it was a great tie in for the "End of An Era" trailer that dropped in game as the servers went down.
Same from me. I really liked this event. They referenced the past in so many ways (the adventurer we helped before, the vendor being the 1.0 Minfilia model, etc), gave us a neat freebie (the mount, which is on par with any cash shop thing), some cool music, a cool minigame (which we can play anytime from now on at the toy box), mentioned looking to the future, had lots of touching letters from the staff (and you can even figure out who a lot of them are like the lead writer, musician, and translator), and it's always cool meeting Yoshi P "in person"; this year on an airship flying through the void between universes instead of the border of Ethyres' Aetherial Sea, the normal part. That was...oddly different to me, but in a good way.
This has been one of the best Rising events, and the best I've ever gotten to play (been playing since 2014 or so, but didn't know about events and so missed the one with the Devs and the one with the "attack on Ul'Dah" 1.X homage FATE), and I'm really happy about it.
.
Yeah, it's wild how different the forums are than the game's playerbase itself. And how, if you ever point this out, the forums will insist they're really representative of the playerbase when they seem very much not to be...I’ve always felt like the Rising Events were touching ones that remind you of the real people behind the game. It’s easy to see ‘developers’ as a single homogenous entity lol, but like anyone else they’re just people doing their best with what they have. The game has its flaws as all things do but even now I still enjoy the game regardless of the things I’d like to see changed.
Honestly, having played since 1.0 one thing I can definitively say is that the forums overall simply do not reflect the overall community in game. I rarely (if ever) see the kind of pettiness and negativity you’d expect if you had read the forums but not played the game (though that would also be kinda weird lol).
And with so many people opting to play contrarian / trolling, it’s no wonder these forums are a godless place lol
EDIT:
There also is another.
Go to your Inn Room, the Journal.
Post-Dragonsong Main Scenario Quests
Griffin, Griffin on the Wall
Cutscene #5
Since I didn't play in 1.X, THIS is where I remember that music from. And yes, EVERY time I watch that cutscene, the Finest Pupil has to punt me to the airship because I don't want to leave him. I've never given to the other option, nor have I ever seen anyone do so in playthroughs.
.
As I once saw it put:
"Everyone ganster until Answers (Reprise) starts playing..."

Nonora, the NPC for the Kupo Adventure game, was also the starting NPC for the 2015 Rising. She mentions helping with the bug infestation if you were around for that.
As that was right when I started playing, the first seasonal event before I even knew it was a seasonal event, that was kinda neat.
My favorite letter was the festival decorator, sharing appreciation for players recognizing and acknowledging the little touches they put in. I even remembered seeing the discussion/discovery around the "romantic snowmen" not so long ago.
As for the song, Answers - Reprise was a reward in a past Rising event, soo... unfortunately means you'll be looking to the cash shop if you're itching for it. 's real good, tho.

Actually, it's not quite the same track - the piece that played in every zone of 1.0 just before the 'Calamity' shutdown was actually different to Answers ~ Reprise. The 1.0 track's name has never been stated (and has never been released - it was missing from the FF XIV ~ Before Meteor soundtrack album), but has been fondly and unofficially called 'Dalamud Answers' by players.
The difference is in the structure - although both tracks feature Susan Calloway singing it in a capella, Answers ~ Reprise just repeats the first two or three verses of Answers where as Dalamud Answers is the full song in it's entirety, but Susan's vocals are deliberately distorted and don't just echo (with the benefit of hindsight, it was as if Hydaelyn herself was writhing in pain and despair, which, in a way, she was).
Just wanted to clarify that point as they're not actually exactly the same track.
Yuna would tell you it's still worth it. That's three years children can sleep in their beds without fear.
I say we take what we can get.

Have to admit, I was actually really pleased when I used the new Phoenix 'mount' for the first time and realised that the mount music is:
Prelude - Rebirth

Hearing "Answers" play by the decorations made me feel so warm. I loved the cameo as well! A nice homage to 10 years of FFXIV ARR and beyond![]()
The devs are big boys, they can handle criticism of their product without having a mental breakdown. The fact that we're still here giving them money is demonstrative of the fact that on some level, we still find some joy in the game. The forums are just as much a place for feedback as they are a place for fans to thank the devs; learn to live with it bro.Too many of the critics aren't expressing any love for the game, though. They're only expressing hate.
I know that has come up before but as I've said before if players only mention what the devs are doing wrong and never mention what they're doing right, they're going to stop paying attention. No one can work effectively if they're stuck in a negative echo chamber.

Probably true, for this game at least. Although the Devs and Community Manager of the game I used to play had very fragile egos and couldn't/wouldn't tolerate any negativity toward their game at all.
Which is probably why the official forum of that game is a ghost-town.
