Don't care if it doesn't make sense, I just want it to be fun. That doesn't make sense to allow the current classes to use all weapons because the naming nomenclature is designed to be specific to the weapon.
Gladiator = Gladius + Ator = Latin: Sword User
Archer = Arcus + -er = Latin: Sword User
Marauder = French : Frank Axe Warrior of pre-Medieval France. (Francisca was their favored weapon which got its name because they were the Franks who used them. This also is where France got its name.)
Pugilist = Pugil + -ist = Latin: One who fights with Fists.
Lancer = Lancea + -er = Latin: Lance User
Yeah, I'd still prefer Classic Job names be implemented in a Title Fashion that stacks ontop of the Armoury system but doesn't replace it. Each job title giving access to 5 "Core Skills" that are not present currently for that job and can only be used by that job title being active. (Steal for Thief Etc.)
Then let the armoury system maintain the "Weapons Classes" and implement new weapons as new classes that give access to new groups of skills that allow you to flesh out job titles more and more.
I have to thank Square-Enix for the amazing job they have done recreating Final Fantasy XIV from Scratch. Especially the inclusion of Missing Genders which we petitioned for in good faith. This was proof to us players that the Developers are truly Sympathetic to our requests and that being honest and vocal can pay off with the amazing characters we have who are Female Roegadyn, Male Miqote, and Female Highlanders. Thank You SE, Thank You Community Team, Thank You Yoshi-P.
Edited your post to what I'm pretty sure the devs will do.Yeah, I'd still prefer Classic Job names be implemented in a Title Fashion that stacks ontop of the Armoury system but doesn't replace it.
