Use for Deaspected Crystals

Fellow adventurers, you may ask yourself "What is wrong with the world that it produces flawed things such as a crystal void of any elemental property?" If not, maybe it hasn't occurred to you that this could very well be a sign. Either way, I believe it to be a portent. It could very well be that the land is suffering and in it's pain has produced these manifestations.

I have met many adventurers that have come across these deaspected crystals and have simply discarded them thinking that there was no worth nor use in them. Many in my company, myself including believe that these are contrary to popular belief; a gift from the twelve or Eorzea herself.

As I was reading over Kipih Jakkya's editorial in the latest issue of The Raven; I came to the understanding that these are in fact a gift and mustn't be squandered. There have been many whisperings of a strange craft rumored to be called Materia. I believe that with this strange new magic, we could very well be able to imbue these empty crystals with their rightful elemental property. Others say we could use these new powers to imbue the crystals with other magical properties to enhance the armor that we wear or the weapons or tools that we wield. Personally, I believe that we could use this system to restore the balance of nature and bring peace again to the land.

I digress, but we will see how events unfold. I will follow closely to the reporting of Kipih Jakkya and aid her however I can. I hope you do the same.

As I close, I wish to implant one thought into your mind. As this new technology becomes available to us, we must hasten our search for these crystals, for I'm sure the Garlean Empire is just as aware as we.

Yes... While I hope it doesn't come to this (especially as deaspected crystals are harder to find than beastmen seals) there is an apparent lack of such a thing in this game that I cannot help but think something like this will happen soon.

My theory is similar to yours, materia related. However I think they might be the catalyst needed to combine materia with the equipment. They aren't too hard to find, I've almost a stack just by going about my business.
