Wdym guys, Kaiten never left in 6.1 - it only changed its' profession from being a boring obligatory button press before each Iaijutsu to actually modifying your gameplay, which PvP kindly offered.

Me see Kaiten me happy.
Me see
me no happy
You can identify people that were actually good at SAM pretty fast by their opinion on bringing back Kaiten.
Why? Because I genuinely don't care about Kaiten I was apparently not good at SAM? Is that really what we're going to assume here?
There can be SAM players who were great that want Kaiten back.
There can be SAM players who weren't great that want Kaiten back.
There can be SAM players who were great that DON'T want Kaiten Back.
There can be SAM players who weren't great that DON'T want Kaiten back.
If you need a coping mechanism, go get a coping mechanism but don't assume how good someone was at Samurai back then based on how much they want Kaiten back now. That's a strawman if I've ever seen one.
If you have to compare the following two...The WHM in this hypothetical case and my humble opinion, is the better SAM. There's no question about it, 10/10 completely unbiased view ( obviously ) mhm... ( nods wisely )
- WHM who never played SAM, wanting Kaiten back?
- SAM main who doesn't want Kaiten back?
You can also look at my history on a certain site and see certain numbers were higher with than without. I still don't want it back.
In fact, you can see I did best in 4.x, during Sigma, when sam was arguably the jankiest it's ever been.
My favorite playstyle of it is still 5.x, it was near perfect at the end of 5.5. Yet that wasn't because of kaiten.
They made sam terrible with 6.0, before kaiten was removed, not after. Nerfing setsugekka just to add it back as a 120s CD ability ruined sam.

Or...You think the new Melee Job is going to be Corsair.
But you have been deceived...
The new Job will be...
...Kaiten.
Kaiten will be the Job. The entire Job will be Kaiten. All buttons will be Kaiten. You will Kaiten your Kaiten before Kaitening. All buttons, all animations, all resource management; the Job will be Kaiten. The full and complete embodiment of Kaiten, having thrown off its ephemeral imperfections. When you change into the Job, the Job stone will he the Kaiten icon, and your character will turn into the Kaiten icon. It won't even have arms and legs, that would be imperfect. It will just be the Kaiten icon floating in the air, performing Kaiten.
The tagline at the end of the full DawnTrail trailer will be thus:
"Become what you must. Become the Warrior of Kaiten."
Kaiten was removed so they could give it to Corsair.
A quick check shows me the last time you raided with SAM was in Shadowbringers. Why, pray tell, did you stop? Why? Because I genuinely don't care about Kaiten I was apparently not good at SAM? Is that really what we're going to assume here?
