Yeah, I see. Here is the real situation. I'm not a beginner and I'm doing my job. Our melee is running about dozens of yalms, dueling or chasing someone. Two enemy's melee chase me and get to me while the whole group scatter in different directions, and this was not a case of tactical retreat. Our melee is back, I'm dead and marked with a target to ignore.

This is not a story about the suicide, it's just about people using this mark for harassment. If this happens, I just leave. Because I can do my job and I can do it well enough, but getting the mark target to ignore trying to survive is already too much. You can say "Know your class", but I know my class enough to survive against at least one, but two, three is not an option.

Or when the target to ignore mark on the one who left to renew the mana. Or the target to ignore mark on who is being hunted by opponents. Or target to ignore on me when I help a hunted party member who has a LB, without which we will not win. Or target to ignore mark on a focused party member who is being crushed by two players right next to us and who for some reason no one pays attention to.

So I won't put up with that, and I think people who put up with that are spineless. If you have a boor in the party, they should be sent to hell, let them win on their own, if they can.

I noticed that there are often arguments here with the shifting of all responsibility to the player, implying that all matches are perfect and the team works smoothly, but in reality it is usually just the opposite.

About the conversations after the match. They are different. When the same melee player writes to me after the match “You are bad”, because I physically could not push the crystal (mana at zero, HP at zero) while he was having fun somewhere far away, this is also complete garbage. Because first the harassment in the match, then the harassment in private messages.

All this can be done differently. I still don't agree with the need to mark someone who kills himself over and over again. If you really want to put marks, then chain mark is much better. I agree with soft talk, but it works better without a mark, much better in my opinion. Sorry for the verbosity.

Yeah ok, I see where you are coming from. While I will agree to disagree with the choice of what markers to pick, I can 100% see where you are coming from - those are horrible experiences you listed and not a single one of them would even come close to me using a marking here. I feel sorry for the absolute shitshow you've had to go through, but rest assured any of these situations you listed are normal gameplay occurances, including the one where everyone scattered into the four winds. Unfortunate dispersal, but nothing to mald over.

And yeah, solo matchups are one thing, but at 2+ it highly depends what tools you have, how much HP and MP you got ready, what defensives you have, where the rest of your team is, healthpack availability and so on. This is similar to how people lack the sense to interpret logs from "the-site-that-shall-not-be-named" correctly, people with lesser game sense generally are being absolute wankers if they play like that.

The argument of shifting responsibility is actually more used to explain why healing responsibility shifted to the individual rather than be a core Healer mechanic. Players aren't perfect, let alone the intended teamplay. And yes, conversations like how you mentioned are also far from what is acceptable.

So I am sorry while I will continue to agree to disagree with my choice of tools, but I can see why you ARE so against it. Actually, if they gave us back overhead markers that were part of callouts like Focused Attack generating a 5-second countdown + burst marker, I'd like similar overhead markers if used with an ally as as a target that looks like the sprint icon for "Fall back (and regroup)". That would eliminate my reason to use the Ignore mark instantly and I'd MUCH prefer that.
