Zenos is our Vegeta in the Dragonball franchise. Was a villain- now we're best friends. He'll eventually have a wife and grow a giant mustache

I feel not many people are bringing this up; but I still think the "Zenos taking over your body" bit in EW was the biggest waste of potential the MSQ has ever had.
The tension was palpable. What if he kills one of our friends? What if he does something messed up while pretending to be us and thus sow chaos, distrust, disbelief and despair in our party? Will he finally step into the role of a truly despicable villain and give us tremendous motivation to destroy him?
Nope. Instead, that plot point lasted only 1 quest long and nothing important came from it.

I 100% agree with you.
I loved the tension and the feeling of helplessness and it was completely wasted.
It makes me feel like they rewrote the story when they were halfway through with it. (●´⌓`●)
You are assuming that "Zenos taking over your body" was the point of that set of quests. The actual point was "WoL is now as helpless as Zenos was in a similar body. Can he survive as well as Zenos did without his body? Let's give the WoL an added incentive ... the possibility of murder and mayhem against his friends".

That's more the way I took it. Give the all-powerful Warrior of Light a taste of what it feels like to be normal. And give them incentive to see if they can still break their limits. Also kind of supports the idea that the WoL's essence reacts with dynamis in ways that others don't, and from Venat's comment about how powerful the Azem after her was in their first spar, may have reacted that way as an Ancient, too.You are assuming that "Zenos taking over your body" was the point of that set of quests. Ah I think you misunderstand the concept of Zenos... You assume Zenos is a mirror to "all the simps out there" in an affectionate way...
if you paid attention to the story.... there is a whole meaning behind the mirror that doesn't mirror your assumption on what Zenos was about...
Also, the person you quoted from, I have to disagree with them and agree with you on that point. But also, you are correct on other things.
The way we perceive NPC/characters is for each and everyone individual and different......
Still, "mirror" was nowhere meant affectionately, more so, it was meant for Zenos to be relatable to WoL in ways /you/ may differentiate.
I do not admire Some people's storyline where Zenos' words were meant to be a simper however if that is how they saw it as who am I to say anything about it! But there is no right or wrong way...how to take his words...
Yoshida had admitted a while ago also, they did not know where to go with Zenos. I believe they recognized this flaw
and I doubt they will make this mistake again....... Well, we will see if 7.0 learned from the mistakes.
1. Stop fake death and 2. stop bring back the dead ><
