NA server issues over the last week is becoming unacceptable

I know this week every time I logout of FFXIV I get a black screen and when go into task manager to close it say FFXIV has stopped responding. Then I have to shut down my pc and start it back up to close FFXIV.

It will still happen but windowed mode will at least allow you to close it through task manager.

I think it was less an issue of them playing in windowed or fullscreen and more about them probably not knowing how to kill the process in task manager.

Animation lock is intended. That however isn't the problem here. They can't fix NA ISPs. Or EU ones apparently.

Animation lock is intended. What is not intended, or at least shouldn't be, is that the animation lock timer extends with your ping, making it impossible to play certain jobs correctly if your latency is anything higher than 80.

I'd like someone to name one game that has had an online component just...never have an unplanned outage and has worked perfectly since day one and is still going to this day. I'll wait.

I don't know if you read the rest of the thread but this isn't about last night's outage. It's about latency issues that as far as we've been able to tell over on the tech forums are happening like clockwork from around 1 or 2pm eastern to 1 or 2am eastern on NTT's Sacramento node for AT&T customers.

This happened last time too.
Hear me out. I'm on Comcast, and a long time ago I had really bad packet loss. Most of my friends didn't experience this though. Some did, but it was like an 80/20 split. Anyway, after a few weeks my issues went away on their own, and suddenly the 80/20 situation reversed. All of a sudden, most of the people I knew were experiencing issues, while I was not.

It's happening like this again, lmao. Could be coincidence, but damn. Go check the tech support section and there's a thread from 6.3's launch talking about packet loss. It's like the same 9 ish people complaining. But then all of a sudden, the thread got real quiet, and now the forums are blowing up with a totally different set of people complaining about the same kind of packet loss. Isn't that weird? I don't know any of the technical stuff behind this, but what a funny coincidence.

edit: Try mudfish btw. It fixed my issues when I was having bad unplayable levels of packet loss.

The issues seem to have been fixed, as I've had 0 problems (thus far) today. I guess when they fixed the servers, they also fixed the latency? Will find out later tonight.

Yep, absolutely true. You know what the good news is? It’s not WoW. Yeah, imagine if we were still playing that. No thanks!

They're not. We're seeing the same issues right on schedule in the thread on the tech forums.
