Goodness, I just want actual heroines not "slay queens!" But given the state of that shockingly bad Myths femroe character's dialogue I guess we can expect more of that once Krile joins the party.

Likewise. Characters such as Celes and Aerith had moments of strength and weakness - whereas the likes of Sadu and Y'shtola seem bizarrely unfazed by absolutely everything going on around them. Even some of the more sharp tongued members of a party in other games have moments where they find themselves unable to resort to their usual wit or risk falling to despair.
The characters in this game who feel the most 'human' are, ironically, the more sympathetic of the antagonists and villains. Perhaps because more thought is put into their motives...
Curiously enough, the likes of Fordola and Yotsuyu goe Brutus come to mind.... I'd kill for one of those in the party right now. I'd go on so many adventures with Fordola and Arenvald. Or at least, I would if one of them wasn't on Primal Arrest and the other waiting on Cid's eternally long but also curiously non-existent Magitek queue.
Seriously, the world of Final Fantasy XIV is basically Fantasy Techpunk. Why is Arenvald not Professor Charles Xavier from the show Wolverine and the X-Men yet?! I know they have the tech for it.
Also, it's hard to grow fond of some of the most interesting female characters of Final Fantasy XIV because they're rarely around and we don't get to see them. Sadu and Cirina are nice and all, but their screentime is minimal and thus we get no further characterization. Give me Yugiri, give me Fran, hells at this pace give me Lyse!

Yotsuyu and Fordola are both pretty great. I stand by the opinion that the former has one of the best trial fights in the game and some great bitterness to her scenes and I agree that Fordola should have come as a package deal with Arenvald to bring some greater variety of viewpoints to the increasingly stagnant Scions. Perhaps then, Estinien would have been able to retain a bit more of his 'cynical edge' if he had someone like Fordola to sit back with and give the others a shared dose of realism to counter the excessive idealism.Curiously enough, the likes of Fordola and Yotsuyu goe Brutus come to mind.... And they keep accusing "white knight" as the one who derails the thread while the facts already there...There was nothing to "read into them" - he was very explicit in his posts. You just can't stand that the world has moved on from that neolithic viewpoint. As to derailing threads, there was one recently from someone posting about what they liked in EW. And guess what? There's the usual group of trolls bashing them for saying something good about the game on page one. And guess what? You're included!
I'm not sure where did you get that "hates women" because of Venat, since most of his fanfiction story is just "Venat turned evil". It's mostly of his other thread that discussed something about misogyny behavior. But eh, I don't really care about it anymore.

*THIS game* sucks. Sorry!
At least one of the posters in this thread has, in the past, directly accused people of disliking Venat on the basis of her being a woman. Much in the same vein as how you, yourself, have referred to people as 'psychos' for wanting more stakes and consequences in the story - which I would like to think is meant as a joke...?
Furthermore, the criticism and rewrites of Venat are less about making her 'evil' and more so making her equally accountable for the atrocities she has committed. A lot of people overlook the fact that the Sundered exist at the expense of the Ancients and only came to exist because the Ancients were subject to genocide at the hands of Venat. The game bends over backwards to downplay that and even excuse it as a 'grim necessity' which understandably rubbed a lot of people the wrong way, especially since it does not align with the supposed moral compass of the Scions who have a very muted reaction to it all to the point where they get more enraged in cases where one of their own is simply being inconvenienced by someone.
I don't particular care if someone likes or dislikes Venat, though I do think the concerns raised by those who do not are often misinterpreted in a way that is very dubious. She's a collection of pixels in a video game rather than a real person at the end of the day and the actual people with real thoughts and feelings are inherently more valuable by comparison.
Op, what have you liked to do in FF14? Eureka+Bozja? Surely, if people keep expressing that they'd want exploratory zones to come back FF14 dev team catches that feedback.
For creation of Manderville relics obviously a different kind of feedback is heard, but I also believe that FF14 dev team has not made their choice arbitrarily. To me it seems like it's maybe feedback+this format fitting into restrains the dev team has, whatever they might be.
This game has seen bunch of content come and go which I myself hadn't wanted to door hadn't been able to(exploratory zones after og diadem and it's rework)(ultimates seem very cool, but the scene around them and player pool which frequents them on level i would like to raid on seems obsessed in shockingly tangential things - and i'm going through some thing in real life which makes me ill prepared to soldier on through the social hurdles which raid leading in my experience is almost entirely)
Butbutbut, here is my view: that does not make those pieces of content bad. I am able to develop my own approach to them if I want to, and that there is, I think, the charm of theme park-ishness of FF14. I have already learned to like stuff I wasn't so frenzied about when it was first released. I have never tried to gobble up content in this game as soon as it's released anyway. I am not expecting anyone to be like me, but if anyone is interested in different mindset to approach this game with I can broadcast into the void in here, on official forums, we all can do so.
If I would have been the tool with responsibility to make the choice I would have made people to farm 25k tomes at least per relic phase >: )

Exploratory zones, particularly Anemos due to dyeable relic gear and Bozja/Zadnor.
Grinding Ivalice raids for gear, along with the NieR raids before the stat squish made the latter impossible to complete in under 40 minutes.
The previous deep dungeons given that they actually rewarded things like the Kinna weapons / Jeudi mount and other things I was interested in + releasing early enough before I had a chance to level my classes to 90 thanks to extended patch cycles.
Extremes back when their weapons weren't as gaudy as they are this expansion and the mounts weren't cats with small heads.
Restoration content - grinding out and selling rewards for gil.
Occasionally dungeon farming but with both 6.3 and now 6.4 set to have recycled sets there's no point in me running patch MSQ dungeons more than once.
8-man raid set grinding except for when they released the atrocious Genta Eboshi sets.
Roulette and tome farming which is basically all there is to do this expansion has always been dead last in the list of things I've wanted to do. Even if I don't rush new content when it releases this expansion it's all been short-lived and each major patch doesn't provide more than a few hours worth of things to do. 6.4 is likely to be the last major patch I stick around for until 7.0 - which is still roughly a year away. Even then 7.0 is no longer a definite yes for me because I'm not willing to endure another expansion's worth of Endwalker's constant mistakes.
