I want to play *This* game

As the topic title states, I quite literally want to play this game. As in FFXIV. I would very much like to have good content that releases in a timely manner like we did back in Stormblood.

I do not care for excuses or for bad faith posters to tell me to go play other games as they try to draw attention away from the fact that clearly not all is well with this one. FFXIV was my main game for years prior to Endwalker, but now it seems intent on betraying those of us who invested so much time in it with how lacklustre both gameplay and battle content has become this expansion.

It was a mistake pandering to the people who unironically enjoy gameplay as riveting as clicking on nodes in Island Sanctuary or whose vanity is so great that they spend hours designing portraits or gposes that players like me who actually want to play a video game will never click on them to see.

We've spent the last 2 years offering feedback as to how to improve things, and it's well past time it's actually acted upon. FFXIV can be better than this. I want 10 more years of FFXIV the game not FFXIV the chat lobby.

You say this but then post on a character that looks like it was clearly made for these purposes.

I can never truly understand people attaching themselves to one game. You'd be a lot happier with playing other games and that is a cold objective fact.

Either that or just do what I do, if you like this game's world and happen to like creating characters and coming up with their own stories, actually play alts. This has been my easy go to solution to keeping me into playing this game once my main has done everything they can do, as I can go back and re-experience the older expansions with a new perspective or approach things more efficiently. If you enjoy playing the game, then you'd also enjoy replaying it again, or at least this was a thing I used to do constantly when I was a kid.

I only play FFXIV as it has the type of gameplay and styles I have always wanted in a game. Right now I’m waiting for some gathering nodes to pop and while waiting, I’m playing Pokémon Scarlet on my Switch.

I accept their logic of wanting to create content for those people, but now that content has been made I hope they return to, well, making social battle content like Eureka and Bozja, rather than permanently making second life and gposer content.

They managed to create content for those types of people in the past without reinvesting Eureka and Bozja resources into it. Bard music, for example, was just this little side project in the background that didn't seem to take away from other content, yet it has transformed the social environment of the game in a big way by becoming featured at almost every city state aetheryte in the game and attracting regular questions from newer players about how to unlock it.

Glamour plates and adventurer plates are other examples of simple content for these types of players that doesn't take away such a huge amount of resources.

We could even argue that they managed Ocean Fishing (and still are) alongside developing Bozja. So content like this doesn't need to mean not getting any social battle content.

Barely enough time to last the months for the next patch.

That is true (if you were only doing one relic, at least). But it's also about the type of content it is. In Island Sanctuary, you're all alone and I doubt the majority of people have their friends visiting them there, whereas in Eureka and Bozja there is a shout chat that has frequently been used where parties have been formed to farm certain things, large-scale communication and coordination has occurred in their various raids, fun discussions have happened involving jokes, science or politics while waiting for raids, skirmishes, CEs or NMs. None of this happens in Island Sanctuary, so it's just not the same.

Funny, Eureka still poppin on multiple datacenters.
Even Bozja still sees some activity quite often.

Now when was the last time you saw people advertising for variant dungeons or island sanctuary content that apparently replaced it?

A few weeks is still quite a bit more gameplay time then the current relics... less then a day.
