Or that if people cried at any point during the story that they only did it for internet points. Or have never experienced a true loss in their life. And I'm sure there are people who do actually like fascist. I know you and I haven't seen eye to eye on many a thing if anything. Yet even in some discussions you evn have reacted in ways where if someone points out parallels to things take those things the wrong way. For instance I personally haven't held your liking of Garlean stuff to think that you enjoy said parallels when brought up. As you tend to write in a way that doesn't give off the impression that it's not just an aesthetics thing or how a character is written.

Meanwhile there are those who do write in such a way that when read by a lot of people it doesn't leave much nuance. To the point where it is very hard to tell if said poster isn't a fascist, hates women, just wants every character to die and to kick puppies. Only to get people to yell "stop trying to brow beat the minority or be thought police". I think we both know ignoring said posters or certain threads is easier said then done. As we both have made "why are you still here" posts. There have been some where a person goes back to a thread to continue a discussion with another poster about the topic. Normally in the past that was seen as the accepted thing to do instead of starting a new thread on the topic and having the Op come off as strange due to trying to continue a conversation that started in another thread. Had to snip some stuff out cause we write "books".
Each to their own, I suppose but I don't personally put much stock in drawing comparisons between people's preferences in fiction and reality. If someone is really enthusiastic about the Dark Brotherhood or Morag Tong in an Elder Scrolls game, for example, it doesn't usually equal that person being a serial killer/assassin for hire in the real world.

As for stakes and character death, I think it's simply a matter of personal taste. MMO's are usually designed to have broad appeal and cater to a variety of different preferences yet the main characters share the same opinions, morals and beliefs as one another and many are from the exact same in-game region. Compared to the variety of personalities we get in the single player Final Fantasy games the Scions are arguably very boring and 'safe'. Like a lot of the game's elements in general, arguably.

So some of us come to forum to voice such concerns. Not everybody is going to agree and that's perfectly fine but there's no reason it has to lead to grand conspiracies or mean spirited bad blood between specific posters.

I may very well be wrong in my viewpoint but my tentative view of the current trajectory is that the development team are doubling down on catering to the 'venue goer' crowd as a priority and pretty much everybody else is being left behind. That could very well change at some point but only time will tell for certain. Between the lack of an equivalent to Bozja/Eureka and the story deciding to do away with multiple ongoing plot threads all at once, though, for the foreseeable future I'll probably only be logging in during the free login campaigns. Especially since I've already carved out a niche for myself elsewhere.
