And ofc we don't talk about Island Sanctuary...

But here i just expose a lying troll who wants to deceive people. OP i mean, not you.
Misunderstood the part about lies and deception, thought you meant me, nevermind, however my point stands that the game is not in a "growing" and "thriving" state, its stable at best, going downwards trend wise, a game that is "thriving" right now and is constantly thriving is CS:GO, it had a constant flow of new players in the past 6+ months, that is a thriving game, while FFXIV barely manages to keep the same numbers, if it even does, and no, they are not the same genre of course, the point was just that a game that is thriving has upwards trends, not downwards, a game struggling to retain the same amount of players each patch, is not a thriving game.

    For reference :

    April 2022 26,698.6 +8,761.4 +48.84% 54,905
    August 2022 28,228.8 +4,608.5 +19.51% 56,616
    January 2023 27,140.2 +8,694.5 +47.14% 47,992

The smallest peak was actually in january 2023 that is in patch times, with a total peak on steam of 47.992, while April 2022 had 54.905, while the average barely managed to stay the same as back in april 2022, and still ended up lower than august 2022.

Of course there was a growth thanks to the massive wow exodus, I never said the opposite, however based on the release of EW, and the following months and patches, the game hasn’t been growing, it’s been struggling to retain the same amount of players.
I will repeat it once more :
Yes the game grew from SB to EW, with a massive peak at release, however, it has failed to retain them well enough, and barely manages to retain the same amount of players on patch months and the months after.

Don't worry i explain it to you again.

    Release peaks:

    SB: June 2017 12,446.3 +5,898.2 +90.07% 25,599

    Patchmonths compared:

    EW: January 2023 27,140.2 +8,694.5 +47.14% 47,992

    ShB: August 2020 20,497.8 +4,730.6 +30.00% 34,086

    SB: February 2018 7,635.9 +1,672.8 +28.05% 12,637

    EW Patchmonth vs. ShB release:

    EW: January 2023 27,140.2 +8,694.5 +47.14% 47,992

    ShB: ShB: July 2019 23,105.4 +8,766.2 +61.13% 38,909

    -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

How in the world do you not see growth there? Patchmonths NOW have MORE players than the forking release of the last expansion. Patchmonths not new expansions, PATCHES.

So there is growth definitely. But the game is struggling with delivering content, we have no extra trials like the triad or weapon quests this expansion. We have no Eureka or Bozja. And i can definitely see peoples unhappiness with that which is definitely, unlike the doom and gloom, very real. The game isn't struggling with its players, maybe it should though cause maybe then the devs wake up and don't deliver half baked content which nobody seems to enjoy, criterion got abandoned so fast by the players for example.

But don't build your arguments on lies from a troll who wants to just stir the forum. The games struggles are very real but shifting the focus on a fake problem like here won't help. Look at the "why is the EW story so lackluster" thread with 400 pages. That is a place to post your very valid critique. Don't waste it on a troll thread where it gets discarded by the devs anyways cause who reads through all this crap here, they sure won't.
