"You pull, you tank" is a bad mentality

So it's bad if 3 want to go fast, but okay if 1 wants to go slow...

Okay, let's make it a vote. 3 want to w2w, 1 doesn't. Majority rules in favour of w2w. Tank now has a choice of staying and realising they have the easiest role to play, leave and take the penalty, or risk getting suspended/banned because they refuse to work with the Party (demanding to be kicked, going afk, "disconnecting," etc).

I don't see how making it a vote is breaching the ToS.

If you mean the sixth sentence, then I'm not. I'm excusing myself from the party (getting a 30 minute penalty in the process) and they can quickly fill in the spot I left open. I'm not disconnecting in an attempt to avoid the penalty, I'm not going afk and I'm not demanding to be kicked. I'm simply removing myself from a disagreement.

Leaving a duty and incurring a penalty is not against the Terms of Service or listed in the prohibited activities (To my knowledge)

However, it is against the terms of service to leave or disconnect from the game in the event that things aren't going well (In order to attempt to 'bypass' the penalty and thus obstruct play) - By 'game' they are referring to you literally switching off the game whilst in-duty.

Yes, a 1 off-basis would be difficult by any stretch. However, if the case is determined to be repeated across multiple duties and/or reports then the intent is pretty easy to derive, especially if this just so happens to 'inconveniently' fall on an unfavorable situation (e.g., a duty not going well), regardless of what your personal feelings on the matter just might be.

There is no 'luck' involved, just common sense when you determine a trend.

Raven I'd like to ask you directly. If you are a tank in an instance and the entire party wants to go at a pace that you don't want to go at, for whatever reason, what do you personally do? The entire party is in agreement of a different pace then what you personally want. As the tank, what is your response?

as a person who has played this game since 2.3 and seen alot. I would do what I normally do. laugh it off and grab the pack. However, I'm not new by the least to any of the jobs. I am well aware of their kits and how to use them and have seen them frankly through lots of changes. the reason i went this way is the "if 3/4 people vote to go fast, don't matter what the 4th want. either suck it up, leave or be reported". that is a very toxic attitude to have as it ruins gameplay for another who might have wanted to say go healer or wanted to go tank. yeah im including healers because theres even some who struggle with that.

End of this my point stands. the ypyt mentality is toxic but people being equally as toxic with the other side of this. When i go into dailies i have seen and expect any party makeup. i have had fast runs, ive had slow runs but the one thing ive never run into is most of you lol. Probably because off the forums. People actually have a brain and learned to adjust through their time playing.

It's nice to know that in a given party that you would acknowledge what the majority of your party wants and go with that. What I fail to understand is why you do such but then say expecting people to work with what the majority wants is toxic. As far as I've ever been concerned, everyone has a say in the pace of the party and not simply the tank. Saying that the tank has sole jurisdiction over that is rude to three others. People are not toxic for voicing their preference nor are they toxic for recognizing that they are the majority in that small selection of 4 people. It's a single instance and it's not hard to work together to get it done.

Honestly the way you are discussing this matter it really sounds like you think the true toxic part is just having a disagreement at all.
