So counter argument: if you want to go slow as hell make your own premade group and leave the rest to our own devices.Got em!i mean aren't you folks just as equally saying that people who say "its not the tanks job soley but anyone" just proving that opinion don't matter either?
End of this all. the "you pull it you tank it" mentality is toxic but so is what a bunch of you are saying as well. Play as you will but don't be shocked if a tank is like..dude lemme pull. if you pull attitude then expect the player to either retaliate or report your stupidity. this is a party dynamic game and if my tank wants to pull..have at it. i will just damage the mob or mobs and move on with my day. my time isnt so important as to force quick runs on people. if you all find your time is. go in with premade groups wanting quick runs and leave the rest of the players to their own devices lol.
Not much you can say now huh.
Thank you! People need to read this over and over.Saying that it's not the tank's sole decision on how the run goes is not toxic.
Saying that the group interest is more important than a sole person's interest is not toxic.
Saying that double pulling is more fun is not toxic.
Saying that survival is dependant on the healer's capabilities rather than the tank's is not toxic.
No one here is saying that you need to speed run. In fact, all I have seen is people saying that double pulls are more fun.
Also, you can't be banned for pulling as a DPS, but you can get banned for refusal to participate and/or disruption of play by either turning off your stance, not touching the mobs, or refusing to move.
So the petty tank can report all they want for someone else pulling, but at the end of the day, they'll be the ones getting banded for YPYT.

Well that was harsh if there were no other actions against your account.
I wonder GMs see things the same way now as they did then in ARR. I didn't start until Heavensward myself and while I know players who have gotten banned for a variety of things, YPYT has not been one of them even though I know a couple do it.
Just pull anyway what the worst that's gonna happen you have to revive and pay a gigantic 2000 gil bill?
Love how the tags on this thread each are from a different user as well![]()
just following up on posting those screenshots of my ban from the you pull you tank attitude
edit: this resulted in a 1 week ban. I had no warnings or bans before this.

The healer is my friend and even they said F anybody that tells you what do in game. If I want to play a certain way I will. Who are you to tell me otherwise. I work 8 hours a day and play to have fun. I won't let some nobody tell me how to play my gameIunno. If by "pocket healer" you mean the random sod who doesn't want conflict: I'd heal you if you were single-pulling, but I'd definitely be a tad grumbly about it behind the screen. I don't really agree with being conservative with pulls when you 1. have adequate gear for the instance and 2. know to cycle your defensives, so while I would definitely heal you out of just wanting to play my role in the party and not being another stick in the mud, I would hate being considered your pocket healer.
If you mean a friend, kind of sad to know you're in the "wrong" by needing your friend to back you up and help vote-kicking any dissidents, and you still continue to do it.
Seeing as you’re the only person with a job, it is understandable that you are well within your rights to utilize a friend to power trip on the rest of the party. Best to go at your slow pace. Screw everyone else. Why should you use trusts when you can ball and chain other people just trying to enjoy the game
I don't see the chat logs or what you did/didn't do there, just a 'you didn't participate'. That's not evidence of anything other than you were suspended for not participating. Do you have proof that it was for saying a single comment of "i'm the tank, let me tank"?
You’d have to take my word for it. If you notice the date, who would have chat logs from almost a decade ago? But we know you won’t accept it as truth. But it’s not my account at risk. Only takes 1 report. You can go ahead and gamble if you want.
Thanks for the screenshots but I'm wondering if you're getting incidents confused. You had said your ban occurred when Hullbreaker Isle was the new dungeon but that was July 2014 and your notice is dated Feb 2015. Four other dungeons were released between the two. There's also no mention of a ban in your screenshots, only a warning being issued to your account. There's no loss of game time with a warning.
It wouldn't make sense for the GMs to only issue a warning if the account had previously received a ban unless you had appealed the ban and the decision was reversed.
Not trying to say you didn't get a ban at some point, just that what you've shared doesn't seem to be from that incident.
I'm sure other players feel the same way about a nobody like you trying to tell them how to play.
In the end, it's group content and it's better for everyone to communicate to come to some sort of agreement. If they attempt that but still can't agree, then it's hard to say what decision GMs will make.
